I agree! Gimmie a shot is superb...binding my hands not to claw at the coffin lid..Dave Richardson their guitarist certainly gives lessons at the guitar school. The band after Red Dirt was Snake Eye which then contained Ron Hales, and criminally were denied a record deal. as well as no recorded material. I came to learn and dig this band because of the LP cover, credited toTeenburger at Portobello' Rd. This was Barney Bubbles. I only found out when I saw the credit on the back of a 1992 bootleg.
@deepindercheema Ron Hales (although not on the album) actually played with the band when they were still red dirt..snake eye was a rerun of red dirt (in my opinion ron was the best electric guitar player I ever heard bar none) . I used to regularly get stoned with ron, ken and steve...ken had a great old merc van with airplane seats in it..... which were ideal to get sprawled out in......but after leaving the UK for pastures new I lost touch
@Unhalfbricked yeah they were a hull band...vocals/guitars/violin dave ritchie (richardson?) ..bass,,Ken Giles (who actually lived in bridlington) ...Drums Steve jackson (who the last time I spoke to him was playing with the dallas boys....The guy who eventually took on the role of lead guitar was an amazing player named Ron Hales who has since played with all manner of people and I,m told runs a very successful Guitar school...hope this helps a bit...kev
Very fine music but for me it's very overrated LP. £1000 for record like this - no way!

Sounds like a cross between Beck and Leonard Cohen

Weren't they from Hull, in East Yorkshire? This is a bit like a more blues-rock version of Michael Chapman, who also lived there at that time.
