Well, 14 months ago, I never new about this song. Recently, I was Discharged from the Military. My 16 months was fulfilled over in Afghanistan. Last month, I returned home, My wife was so happy, I swear she never left my side. My little girl turned 6! I wish I was home. My little girl said "Daddy! I wanna show you a song." So, she typed Travelin' Soldier in the YT search bar and she clicked on the lyrical video, she waited. When the song came oshe said "Sing." We sang the song. I love my family.
i think of my grandpa when i listen to this song he died from cancer about 6 months ago it was a little bit after my birthday and affter he died its ALL been bad luck ever since, i've been waiting forever for good luck to return to me and my loved ones but it never comes
wel this song is a very sad song and because ma dad is inthe navy,at times when he sails out we kinda miss him and the question that we normally ask our mum like when is dad comin home keeps her heart questioned till whenever he comes back...

My boyfriend is in the Marine Corps..he called me today and knowing he's alright brings such warmth to my heart. I'm sure many who have a loved one off in Afghanistan or in any branch of the military know how this feels..recieving a simple phone call or letter from my loved one makes my day entirely.

strangely enough, this reminds me of my ex, and he was never even in the military... I guess in a way your a soldier to drugs when ever you get caught up in that sort of thing.. and.. he probably never will come home to the potential of an amazing person I see inside him, Truly an amazing song, and, speaks right to the heart.. Dixie Chicks, don't ever stop writing songs from your hearts, your truly an amazing girl band! :)

i love this song so much. not cus i have relatives in the army.(which i do) but i have a friend who i've known all my life and it's mine and his favorite song so it's special. i cried never gonna hold the hand of a nother guy.
he lives right up the street and goes to my school. we're best friends.

I cried when I heard this, just thinking of all the solders on Afghanistan, and I'm happy that the mission is ending in June so no one will have to wonder if their son, daughter, mother father, and so on will never come home

I am 17 years old and married to a United States Marine. This song is exactly the way I felt! We got married the day before he left. And everyone did say I was too young for him but we've been happily married for over 6 months now and I have him home finally :) I love our service men and women! Greatest group of you could ever know!

My best friend is in the Marines. Before he left for training, he told me that I will always be his girl. To bad it took me until the day he was deployed to realize that I love him. To make things worse, he is predicting that he wont come back home alive.
