  • my mom was on that bridge mom may you rest in peace love you see your memorial today at 6:05 love you.

  • i was just 7 when this happend and i was so sad:(

  • Minneapolis is my home town 1 out of the 4 people that have died on that was my cousin i will miss you Gloria. May you rest in peace. <3

  • I still very vividly remember that day. I live in the Minneapolis metro and every time I ride over the new bridge, I remember 8-1-07.

Our roads are in really bad condition. The plows dump way too much salt on our roads, which causes the lifespan of our roads and bridges to shrink.

The collapse was the result of there being excess weight on it during a very hot sunny day, with the gusset plates being to thin.

  • I just moved from there about 6 months ago and if you were to see the structural damage to most overpasses and the roads, its not a surprise this happened. The worst of it was over the river. I feel sorry for the people of course. This just goes to show what happens though when they don't fix shit. They don't care until its to late. The structures in MN are garbage except the multi million dollar towers they use for Business.

  • No person deserve this. Anybody who makes a hurtful comment to the victims and their families is a coward. these survivors had more courage and determination to make It thru this. It still hurts that there were people that did not survive and we must honor them. I pray for all of them and pray that legistration towards updating repairs on bridges be improved so to prevent another tragedy from happening again. Very good video. God bless

  • I just returned to croatia from minneapolis when that happened and I think that I was going across that bridge to the airport when I was returning to croatia and I was sad when I saw on tv what happened....btw I'm going to move to minneapolis I love it

  • i love this one video, and the song you picked was so heart touching. sometimes i even cry watching the video. i need reminders sometimes and turn to this video. i like it so much because i was on the bus on the bridge and the video reminds me about how lucky i was and all the rest of my peers and friends were. some of us, like me, even came off the bus totally unscathed. thank you so much for making this music video. i LOVE it!

  • My 2 younger cousins were on the bridge when it collapsed but made it out alive thank god.

  • @supraboost99 im real happy to hear this. I feel bad for those who didnt survive. Please pray for them too, ok? God speed.

  • For a safe America, make bridges, not enemies

  • this is so sad i hope the new bridge is going to be nice and safe so people will be safe and my dad was going to on the bridge but he did not go on it but it is sad cause people lost their lifes!!!

  • The new bridge will open on 9-18-08. It looks much more stronger than the old bridge. The contractors did a magnificent job of building this new bridge.

  • Minneapolis is my hometown. Thank you for making this beautiful video. It's beautiful. I pray daily for all those that died in this horrible tragedy, and for those still missing. God be with them. Thank you again for making this video, it definitely touches my heart.

  • I would sue the city for not keeping it up to code.

  • please don't bother responding or sending me any kinda response to what i say, cause for good or ill i dont care what u think and im not gonna read it anyway

  • lol.. heres my video, it starts out w/ "the 35w, a look back at the good times", and its all in slow motion and disolves to a guy smilin' giving a thumbs up while bobbin his head to music as hes drives across the bridge.

  • I live 20 minutes away from this bridge. My husband USE to take this bridge to drive home everyday. It is 4 days later and they still can not get to some bodies because they are all trapped by huge slabs of concrete laying on top of them in the water. I still am in shick that this could poissble happen in this contry and this day abd age,

  • may god be with you all in Minnesota from all of us in new york

  • You know that a lot of the witnesses said they felt a tremor akin to an earthquake before the colapse. Minnesota does sit on the Mississippi fault line, and tremors have been felt in Minnesota before. I wonder if that had something to do with the collapse. The song that went with this posting was fitting and heart felt by all of us Minnesotans from the day of the collapse, its nice to have it put to words, thank you!!!

  • This just goes to show you that people these days have there priorities in the wrong place.

For example: my town is spending about 20,000 dollars to build a park, instead of spending money on, say fixing our bridges and roads.

  • So close to home, yet I reflected saturday night that I'd not thought about it all day, after enjoying a full family day with all media sources turned off. This event should touch all those who are out of touch. Yet we as humans are able to exclude the horrors around us and go on with our lives. I am truly thankful for all of our moments here. thank you for a excellent video

  • So sad. thanks for uploading. sniff sniff .

  • Powerful; very moving. I routinely crossed this bridge to get to work. Thanks for helping me get in touch with my feelings regarding this tragedy.

  • I just want to leave a quick comment. I see one major reason for this. Gov. Ventura and Minneapolis City Counsel decided it would be better to spent "money" on a worthless money pit known as the light Rail. That boondoggle as nearly cleaned out the DOT reserve that was to be used for highways and bridges. The light rail was obviously not built for moving mass amounts of people. It was built for development around it corridor.

  • Also, I have heard people talk about ice and snow remover. That only affects the concrete surface, which has no bearing on integrity of the bridges, struts, cross bows and beams and remaining super structure. This bridge however have a four foot crack on its span. Bolting plates to each side of it repaired that crack. That actually made it stronger, but they did not investigate or repair the cause of the crack. Again, I think it was because of the wasteful development of the light rail.

  • yer a dick - this was the republicans fault for not funding bridge repair

  • God Bless them... hopefully they will find more survivors.

  • I went over the bridge about 30 minutes before it collapsed and it was a hit a little too close to home... Prayers and hope for the victims and families

  • thanks this means alot to me i lost one of my friends to this collapse he was like five cars behind me and i just made it past it. im just happy im still here. thanks alot

  • the song made me start 2 cry.......

wow....i feel srry for the people in it....

    god bless them ppl =::{

  • My dad is a retired iron worker who worked on many brides and buildings in his day. He also worked on the Verrazano Narrows bridge and the World Trade Center. I was very saddened seeing the bridge collapse in Minnesota and sad that people died. It reminds us about what happened to the World Trade Center in September 11 2001. I pray for all the people who died and were injured on the bridge when it collapsed. This tribute was very good and shows amazing footage. Very sad it happened though.

  • That song is getting a little sickening don't you think? It's been co-opted by every Sally Struthers type cause out there. That song cheapens what happened in Minneapolis.

  • Very touching video, thank you

  • wow

  • You know terrorists could have destroyed the bridge with Scalar Weapons. The Al Quada has them and can destroy bridges and buildings leaving no clues. Just Google: Scalar Weapons

  • Thanks for the tribute, well done, made me choke up... hopefully this had taught all the lawmakers a lesson, we need help with our infastructure and we need it now so more lives are not lost... it's not a Rep or Dem issue it's our country's issue so keep politics out of it... the bridge didn't care if the victims were of one party or another... just get the job done.

  • thanks so much for this video.

    its amazing.

  • very nice very touching :-)
