One big problem with Magic Jack that will prove to be their downfall against new competition.
You MUST have a computer and it MUST be turned ON when you want to make or receive ANY calls. For international calls, each person you are calling MUST also have a Magic Jack to take your call and both of you MUST have your computers turned on every single time.
Of course they'll break after a few weeks, if you don't take care of them. If you step on them, set your chair down on them, etc., they'll break. That doesn't make it a bad product, it just means you need to take care of it.
@TelemarketerTorture Actually the issue is when you get caught in their web of yearly services. You pay yearly not monthly even though it seems cheap. If you make a mistake and sign up for a 5yr subscription instead of 1 like my dear old mother did,...then you can forget about a refund. They'll cancel the service. But they will never refund you your money. The CS operates from a Chat window.

Its not the product thats the scam,...its what the product is used to bait you into ,....their various webs of yearly services that you can't get out of.

When i ordered the 1 I checked my credit card and they had a hold on $50 which looked but then the Confirmation Email showed they were selling me an additional Magic Jack and the other billing would come after the Free Trial Period was over. They wanted me to cancel the order and reorder. Went along with the cancel but not the reorder. When I order 1 I want 1. I was very surprised that they would argue with me so long.
I've had my Magic jack for almost a year and it's saved me so much money, I wouldn't mind if I had to buy another. It's awesome. Especially since my phone bills were close to $70/month. $20/year is cheap.
i have this junk for a month, then today, error 400 appear on my jack, i can't use it, after searching what this error 400 means , that means they have blocked it, so where should i call to, no customer service to contact, this is the way they did their scam.

My cell phone cuts out way more than that. If you get a bad connection, unplug it from USB, wait a minute, then plug back in. This will correct it. I have saved so much money using this thing. My landline was costing about $45.00 a month, which I no longer have. The magic jack works and voicemail is included. This is NOT JUNK !!
Yes, I have to leave my computer on all day, but it is on all the time anyway. But that is definately something for people to think about before purchasing a MagicJack.
I have the magicjack. Love this thing. cant beat it. I had one line with my local company no features for 32.00 a month. got the the magicjack and got all the features, for just 20 bucks a year. This thing works, this thing is the truth. Got mine running on a 3 phone system that I got from WalMart. This is not a scam, I was skeptical at first all the way up until I plugged it into my laptop and got a dial tone.

No it can't. The dialer screen does not appear until after you have the MagicJack plugged into the USB port nd the software has initialized. Hope this is helpful.

People who have a problem with Magic Jack probably have issues with their PC or Internet.
If you looks at my recent videos, all the calls are done over a Magic Jack, and the sound is tip top, no issues at all.
