This car looks just like sex feels. But no seriously, this car, is the one I played with when I was a kid, a model ofcourse, and because of that, this is my all-time dream car.
yeh we picked up of these bad boys..the clutch is not easy,...but its just a matter of getting used to...u must understand the revs....then its a piece of cake...yeh no power steering..this car is a monster.....
@ZerotheheroePSN I can buy one right now with 800 kms for 45,000$ at a dealer 15 minutes from my house lol Used ones go for 25-35 depending on mileage.
I had the privilege of sitting in the driver's seat in one of these beauties today. I believe it was a 1991 model. This is my ultimate dream car. I put my hand on the gear lever, but did not move it. I did not depress the clutch pedal as much as I wanted to. Once I eased into the low seat, everything else in my mind just faded away. Nothing existed but me and the car. I've now concluded that I need to drive one before I expire.
This car should mostly be a show car or a weekend car. Why drive it to work everyday and wait 20 minutes to drive it? It's a car to have if you want one with great looks but if you spend a lot of time on the heavy clutch, just make a flower planter out of it.
I highly doubt that by the 1980s ferrari still couldn't make a car that had to be warmed up for 20 minutes or it'd blow up when you drive it. Hell by the 70s lamborghini could make a car that would start and go without much fuss. Why couldn't ferrari? That really hurts my choice to buy a testarossa.
love this car....was just thinking about it today morning and i got lucky and saw one in the evening. i had several testarossa toys when growing up...more than any other toy car. one really needs to see it in person to actually understand the beauty of this car
my friends dad is lucky enough to own one of these! its yellow and is a convertable and wow it is quite awsome to see him driving down the road in a ferrari!
LOL all the whining about the steering. So what???????????? You want a nice handling little power steering car then get a Fiesta! Some people miss the whole point of cars like this.
Man I love this car .. but i've noticed that in all old skool supercars before the early mid 90s, they had heavy clutch and non-power steering. It's like you have to be physically fit to drive one of these badboys :o
@IVEMER I have driven a 308 GTS some time ago... These cars have a secret about transmission: you must push the clutch pedal twice! once when you disengage the gear to neutral, and once when you engage the gear you want, zB from 3rd to 4th, push the clutch, disengage to neutral, release clutch (once the throttle if you want for better fit when downshifting zb in 2nd), then again on clutch for putting 4th gear... This is also good for the gearbox and clutch systems...
My, have times changed. Back then, 380hp was a god awful amount of power for a car. Now, They've got Subaru 4-doors with more than 380hp. Boy, those were the days.........

Lucky I saw this. Good review. Almost thought about trading my 2008 Corvette for a Ferrari. My Corvette is as fast or faster, safer, has power steering, cheaper to own and repair, can store more, has GREAT fuel mileage, rides great, looks good. I guess it was because I too had a 1965 Corvette plastic model when I was a kid.
When I was younger there were two cars that made my eyes pop: The Testaross and the Countach. I love the Countachs unapologetic spacecraft on steroids look, but it scares me a bit. It reminds me of that suicide-booth in Futurama. If I were to buy any of them it would definitely be the Testarossa. The Testarossa has everything! Looks (Unapologetic as well), more power than I can handle, and windows (not standard in all supercars) that you can use to avoid wrecking the car or killing people.
Do you even know what doubleclutching is..? The Testarossa's clutch system is un-synchronized, so in order to do smooth gear changing, you have to match the revs by doubl clutching.
And please, don't overact so much next time (even tho' this is was uploaded on 2006). I know you are trying to make is seem less serious that way and a bit more humorous, but it just doesn't work like this.
@andreyisgood....I love the Testarossa. And I love this video. The price for a nice low mileage example in the UK is around £35,000. At the moment I am driving a 1998 Honda NSX and am thinking of trading it in for one of these beauties.
I was 10 years old when this thing came out, and at that time I was leaning more towards the 288 GTO. My father didn't like the GTO, he liked the Testarossa. Now, I love the Testarossa, while Ferrari makes cars that look like eh... Lexus? Yuck! I loved the '80s cars.

This isn't a luxury car, it's a sports car. Power steering? Come on.

@MasterPacker12 lol yeah. I think it was modeled after the Testarossa. I'm embarrassed to say I know what the Cheetah actually is.

Wait, wait, wait...
