Wow--had no idea Alex James did this a couple of years ago. I knew he was writing quite a bit, but didn't know he was involved in investigative reporting. He actually seems perfect for this kind of investigative reporting; he's thoughtful, non-judgemental and has a laid-back manner that would put those he's interviewing at ease. Most people who have access to information technology would never assume that Columbia is just a land of drug lords and mules. And those who do think so, are foolishly choosing to.

@bochalema But he's aware that they're "outsiders", they will stand-out and therefore, must be cautious.Even if he has no preconceptions about the workers, he's going into potentially dangerous territory where those involved know that what they are doing is controversial. Not all locals are involved in drug work, but they do understand the nuances within the area where they live. For many, foreigners seem respectful to locals when they remember they're visitors and base their behavior on that.
