Man, I see all these comments about us youth getting into this music. What I'm wondering is what the hell we're all doing? I'm 17, this stuff is all I listen to. New music doesn't have that great feeling 80's metal gave the generations before us. The youth needs to bring it back. I like the new sleaze movement, but they aren't capturing that 80's feel. Anyone else think it's time for us kids to grab an axe and take a piss in the music mainstream? Lets get in touch, do something about it.

Y&T, TNT, Babylon A.D., 220 Volt, Blue Murder, Shotgun Messiah, Loudness, Keel, Black N Blue, Dokken, Ratt, early Oz, Lep, man they were all great! Meniketti never did get enough credit as a shredder, in my opinion. Long live Rock 'n Roll!!!!

@nfsriffle they were NEVER an arena headliner. They did open a tour for Motley Crue in 85. The highest up the ladder they ever got was a co-headlining tour of theaters with Ace Frehley, 3000 seaters basically. That was in 87 supporting this album CONTAGIOUS and is the only time I ever saw them
I remember whey Y & T was Yesterday and Today. Dismissable as recording artists but when they were young it was face melting concert rock n roll. The original drummer needed a watch to keep time but was a freakin' animal with an amazingly fast (heel off the pedal) bass drum technique. They were the Rocky Balboa's of rock 'n roll. I once saw Sammy Hagar join them for an encore. Maybe if he had joined the band, who knows?

@nfsriffle they were NEVER an arena headliner. They did open a tour for Motley Crue in 85. The highest up the ladder they ever got was a co-headlining tour of theaters with Ace Frehley, 3000 seaters basically. That was in 87 supporting this album CONTAGIOUS and is the only time I ever saw them

I remember whey Y & T was Yesterday and Today. Dismissable as recording artists but when they were young it was face melting concert rock n roll. The original drummer needed a watch to keep time but was a freakin' animal with an amazingly fast (heel off the pedal) bass drum technique. They were the Rocky Balboa's of rock 'n roll. I once saw Sammy Hagar join them for an encore. Maybe if he had joined the band, who knows?

No, they were not "dismissable" as recording artists-in fact they were "indispensable" as recording artists and their entire body of work is proof positive the were the most underrated heavy rock band of the past three decades....

Just tell him that this band originated in 1976 and they were originally called Yesterday and Today(after the Beatles!) later shortened to Y & T in 1980-long before cheesy glam like Bon Jovi and Poison came around.
