Your question: Why so many YouTubers in Germany and UK, less elsewhere? I think many reasons:

1. Germany and the UK just have bigger populations. (Germany: 80 million; Portugal: 10 million; Luxembourg: half a million)

2. Different culture. Southern Europe is more relaxed = less need for modern technology = less use of same.

3. Infrastructure. Germany is one of the most "wired" countries in the world.

Errm ... The routing software form the German automobile club (ADAC) says it's 23 hours straight plus 72 EURs of road toll. :-O

Should be easier and especially far cheaper to book a discount flight for that particular day from Lisbon / Lisboa to Munich and back the other day.
