  • love rod he is great, love nod too from slade, chq out my oh my swing version

  • This is good. My favorite cover of "That Old Feeling" remains the opening track from "Louis Armstrong Meets Oscar Peterson," the 1957 Capitol Studios album by those two greats.

  • I am a NEW rod stewart fan and REALLY enjoying his music. Guess I was out of the good music loop for too many years..

He does the 30s and 40s songs like someone who actually lived in that era..

    Kudos to him..

  • I like it better than Frank's version (and I'm a huge fan of Sinatra). I think Frank sings it too slowly. Rod brought it up tempo enough to still make it sound like the emotion it is: yearning for something lost. Rod is a different style singer and comes from a much different background than Frank. That's not a bad thing.

  • ROD DESTROYS ANOTHER OLD STANDARD.IT'S TERRIBLE.

  • This great standard was composed in 1937 by Sammy Fain with lyrics by Lew Brown. Sammy also wrote 'A Certain Smile,' 'I'll Be Seeing You'' and the

    complete score of 'Calamity Jane.'

  • Thanks Rod...it's such a pleasure to hear some of thes great old songs...the melody...and the Lyrics...why some of the words have 3 or 4 syllables...(sp)

  • For those who say it's not Sinatra... that's the point, Rod's made it his own and has caused die-hard Rock And Roll lovers like myself to hear and start to appreciate these songs too. I love Rod's enunciation and diction, some of the things that make dislike other versions of these standards. Rod doesn't let the heart of the song be lost but he puts his own soul into them, amazing!

  • Hermosa canción, gracias Rod.

  • Arturo! Check him out! The guy is a freak of nature on many songs by many artists, and when he wails, look out!

  • He does not have the soul for this. He has a hillbilly soul. Not the elegance of Sinatra swing era. HIs enunciation is even ridiculous. He only gets to do this because hi has the money and name to command it.

  • who wrote this wonderfull song?

  • Thanks for posting this lovely song sung by a super singer. From a BIG fan of Rods. It's always a delight to listen to his records his songs are wonderful

  • Thanks, darling, My wife and I consider Rod Stewart as the one of the best if not the best singer of old romantic songs. We have his entire 4-album Great American Songs. A lot of his songs in the albums are danceable too.

  • Rod Stewart is the best of my generation's singers of old, romantic songs. He is incomparable!

  • hey, what's the matter with his voice ? Only enjoy it, he knows how to fill your skin of feelings when he sings. There are in the world a whole singers with a great voice but do not have the little possibility to enter into your heart. Is the way of singing !!

  • karen79054 I don't know this song but it really nice

it sound like one of those song when the world was nice

  • Rod Stewart can certainly hold a candle to Sinatra, et al, belting out this old songs. Stop bitching old fogeys and just enjoy Rod's raspy voice!

  • @RAMGEN2000 Old Fogeys? How old is your wonderful crooner, Stewart, he's going to be 66 in Jan. of 2010. Rod Stewart IS AN OLD FOGEY!

He should pack it up, retire and act his age.

  • @450984 he is acting his age, singing classics, what do you want him to do?, Rap?, now i know who Sinatra is and was, but i still think Stewart is better, really listen, i think Stewart is on par with Tony Bennet, who Sinatra said was the best singer he heard

  • rod stewart .trumpe-alturo sandoval one of best trumpe

  • Rod Stewart's voice is fine for 'belting' out a rock song but he just does not have the richness in his timbre nor the subtlety of phrasing that is necessary for crooning.

  • C'mon, you're not being fair. This rendition is entertaining. Obviously, he is no Sinatra. But then, who is?

  • Ohhh please! I have that Sinatra album...big whoop! Rod outsold everyone else ever doing sandards and won a Grammy...so, yer wrong!!! Just be happy the world still appreciates this music, young and old and stop being so grouchy! No one has forgotton Sinatra...this is just a different arrangment, but still an homage! :)

  • There's no accounting for talent or taste!

  • holy shit thats arutro sandoval
