It is unfortunate that people hate Jesus so much that they will try or believe anything that attempts to deny historical fact. It would be laughable if so many people have not fallen for it,
@Jonathan2342 I just don't believe in fairy tales such as the bible. So when was the last time you shook hands with J man anyway? The bible is fiction.
I cannot say that Zeitgeist was altogether correct in all its details, but I am certain that some of Christianity's beliefs were copied only from other religions. You can watch the documentary "The Hidden Story of Jesus" here in youtube, and see for yourself the similarities between Oriental religion and Egyptian Myths.
@freakclub99 The bible is a condensed version of older religions. Jehova was known as one of many gods before biblical writers decided to make him the "only" god.
Im an atheist and am tolerant of all religious people(except of course the fundies) and I think youve made a very good job of debunking the zeitgeist nonsense
For all those people who believe that the info in zeitgeist is unsupported by facts, I urge you to visit the official youtube "Zeitgeist Movie" channel. Not only do they have a 2010 release of zeitgeist but they also include in the description a link for a free downloadable pdf that is a complete source book. It covers all 3 parts of the first zeitgeist movie. If you really care about the sources and facts of where zeitgeist has got their information from, download the pdf and see for yourself.
The belief that some cosmic Jewish zombie can make you life forever if you symbolically eat his flesh, and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master. So he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in all humanity because a rib -woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree. Makes perfect sense, and has way more credibility then Zeitgeist.
Why are these videos called debunking zeitgeist?, this is debunking the religion bit, which is pretty funny cos religion is bull crap anyway, your debunking is pointless, and zeitgeist isn't about religion and its whole agenda is not to say religion is made up (it is, come sense people) its about corruption in society, these debunking videos ain't only pointless but doesn't even debunk zeitgeist, just SOME information in it.
@Matty14388 This video shows that zeitgiest flat out lies to show the story of jesus in a bad light, nothing more nothing less. One would assume that this is a substantial fact to consider before disowning the bible, if people have to lie to make you do so.
@elitesack The Bible is a good reason to disown the Bible. Have you let strangers rape your daughter lately? sacrificed and Ox unto the Lord since he find the smells so pleasing? That book is so full of bogshite that I always wondered why they took the least obvious approach. Even though I believe the basic idea is valid, they misrepresented it.
1. HOW can anyone base his beliefs on a product (scripture) of a time during which people had very low reasoning and understanding ability of the things around them (read earth is flat land floating in water and hanging stars from an inverted bowl of sky)? Haven't we come a long way from 1st century by figuring out the relation of various things and their interactions in nature and space? If we chose to not star-gaze, we would still be believing earth is flat among many other things.
2.When people were lacking rational explanation to understand the things they see, doesn't it make sense that, they believed in fabricated explanations (stories about Gods) manifested through their imagination merely based on their experiences/observations? Obviously, such stories would answer their questions about life and everything thus related but none of them were unpredictable revelations even to the people of their own time. They consisted of easy ways out for all the questions. MIRACLES.
3. Such stories (about miracles of Gods) merely serve to satisfy people's thirst for answers to many questions (some of which we yet have to know) until someone who looks at things in a different perspective (Copernicus, Galileo, Newton, etc) using contemporary technology and unbiased interpretation of observations, with more profound reasoning, for the rest of the world to see and understand. Let's gain knowledge through EXPERIMENTATION and OBSERVATION but not through irrelevant SCRIPTURES.
Though I do agree the Southern Cross references is a bit rediculous, the other about the 3 stars in Orions belt pointing to the rise of the Sun does hold water... you have to roll time back further in the night to see it... but it does line up. I used Starry Night v 4.5. He didn't claim it pointed at the Sun it self, but at the point on the horizon from which it rises.
Did you put the correct dates etc in? How long before did it line up with the horizon before the sun rising?...Which is not even what was implied in the movie lol.
Yes I rewound (if that is a word) to Year 0 Dec 25th. And that is what was implied in the movie, the diagram they used just wasn't very good along with the dialog. He said that the three stars with Sirius pointed to the point at which the sun would rise. Not at the sun itself.
I really worried about the begining of Zeitgeist turning alot of people away with the first part debunking Christianity. The point is, this part is irrelavent. The only real important part about its religious claims is that religions section humanity and cause endless and sometimes violent conflict with one another. There are more similarities in religions than just the facts of the figures, most preach the same thing, just the details are disputed. I think we just need to stop fighting.
@deimos760 *Religion in itself causes violence and conflict? or systems have used religion as a reason to whip people up into a frenzy?*
Religion causes divisiveness and by the kind of mentality that it promotes (imagine- omnipotent gods, perfect gospels) it spreads ignorance and fanaticism among the people.
@bazb1985 I check the alignment of Sirius with the sun,and is like the zeitgeist movie, maybe not the 25 of dic,but the point is that Egypt really represent his gods with astrology, and maybe in rome they change the date.i really think that religion are only for mind control. it´s true that zeitgeist have 80% true and 20%, or 70% and 30%, but it doesn´t matters, they use disinformation, you can´t say that religion are based on truth and that it doesn´t have relation ship with stars and the sun.

Well, traditional beliefs are nothing but traditions and old stories, that people take as the truth.
So yes it matters if the bible is accurate, since so much people shape their opinions based upon it. (and we all know it is NOT)
Actually, on the research i have done most of Zeitgeist is true, and the anti Zeitgeist is mostly religious propaganda.. How traditions evolve is a long process.. Zeitgeist merely try to give a picture of, how it probably has played out..

I don't need to rationalize Zeitgeist.. Anyone in their right mind knows and understands that religion is bullshit! Zeitgeist is good because it makes people question religion.. maybe it is not 100% accurate.. but how accurate do you think the bible is? LOL you probably think it is... it would not surprise me if you did.. and if you do.. do you believe in the old, or the updated version of the "holy" book? LOL
You can't, it's just modern astrology acting as a front for falsifying traditional beliefs. Besides, I said try to rationalize the idea of a false anti-religion. Doesn't matter if the Bible is accurate or not, you don't beat one lie with another. C'mon now, that is just dishonest and low. For sure I would think you wouldn't want to uphold a theory that has failed all academic scrutiny. Trading lies is all you are doing, missing the truth entirely, well, I hope not.
I like your videos, but there is one error I noticed right away. The Romans did not invent crucifixion, though they did perfect it. The Persians were said to have done this (Particularly Darius) and Alexander the Great crucified people during his conquests.

I think Peter Joseph is confusing Easter with Christmas. He's certainly conflating the two.

It's interesting to note that Job (generally recognized as the oldest book in the Bible) references Orion's belt as Orion's belt.

This is Christian propaganda. Many years ago the Christians, and the Muslims, tore the great book apart that explains the truth about the
ancients before you. They have kept the truth from you to keep control.
The only reason this movie was even made is because Zeitgeist revealed the truth about the perversion of sun worship, crippling the
Christian numbers.
Free yourself and embrace the consciousness of the world being connected as one.
