  • OMG MORE

  • I'm not in the habit of posting comments were they unwarranted. However, in this case I must respond to raskulcha's apparent insinuation that this recording is not her voice but that of Loreena McKennitt. Elolinona sings this song using her Brittish accent. It is markedly different from Loreena McKennitt's Scottish accent. I've compared them both and they are indeed distinctly different.

I delight in listening to her beautiful voice. She pours her heart and soul into into every note.

  • WOW. I just stumbled upon your videos and you have such an incredible voice. Thank you for sharing it with us. :)

  • Ärligt talat, kolla upp Cetic Woman och annars även Suil A Ruin. Irländsk folksång som passar din röst perfekt. :)

  • Excellent - much better than my effort!

  • shit va bra det här är

  • how do you get that ecco?

  • Nice version, didn't quite expect it to be that good, there are so many versions on YT. Well Done, you have a fine voice....

  • This, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

  • beautiful:))

  • beautiful ... crystalline ... complimenti.

  • I love that song, and a really good performance of it! I'm Irish so naturally this song is close to me! Check out the film "Michael Collins". An irish movie, this song is played in it near the end, it fits perfectly.

  • raskulcha, it is her own voice. you´re right that its close to loreena´s one. but it just means that the world has become one more awesome folk singer richer! :D

elolinona, keep up the great work, and maybe we'll see you're cd in the shops over a few years (or soon). it would be great (in my opinion) if you would find some people who could play nyckelharpa, lowwhistle, bagpipes and probably an hurdygurdy. i think you have an great voice for that! gr. from Holland

  • sounds EXACTLY like Loreena McKenitt, no offence but it soesn't sound like it was recorded in that room even with reverb....

  • Okay, well, it actually is me singing, in that room. I wouldn't upload it if it wasn't me singing...

  • @Elolinona I would like to come and measure your acoustic environment there, as I think you actually have a miracle room, this needs to be investigated and I have to find out how you have done with that room!!!!

    /F. (Sound engineer).

  • @Elolinona It's truly amazing that room you have there, it must be a miracle room!! I have to come and measure and analyze it!! In my 20+ years in this business I have never heard a normal room sound like that, how did you do that?

    F. (Sound engineer).

  • Wow this is super pretty! I love your hair also.

  • Thanks! I love retro and vintage styles! :)

  • Wow! That was beautiful! Please can you let me know what the words of the 3rd verse are, I can't quite catch them. I've always sung a shorter version of this, and I love the extras that your version has. Really beautifully done.

  • The people were saying,

    No two e'er were wed

    But one had a sorrow

    That never was said

And I smiled as she passed

With her goods and her gear,

    And that was the last

That I saw of my dear.

  • Sorry, but this can't be recorded in this small room.

  • Actually it is. I just added some reverb in "audacity"..

  • Oh lovely Elolinona! I wonder if you've heard the late Margaret Barry's version of the song? NOT to take away from your terrific interpretation at all... it's just very different, and I thought you might enjoy it. Thanks so much for sharing, it was a pleasure listening.

  • Absolutely beautiful. I've been looking a long time for the perfect version of this lovely song, and here it is! Spine tingling.

  • Er woont een engel in Zweden! Applause.

Det bor en ängel i Sverige! Applåder.

  • Just wonderful - I love this song soo much too !!! <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

  • Wow. Better than the versions of many proffesional singers. You should look into the songs from "Celtic Woman" Their songs would suit your voice well! I would honestly buy your album if it were for sale. WOW!

  • That is exactly what I thought when I heard Elina sing that song. Isn´t she lovely ??? :-)

  • Jag älskar denna sången! Tack så mycket, du sjunger så vackert!

  • Your voice is amazing infact this is the best version ive heard .

  • Please, i really need these ;yrics, exact to your words, where did you ge them? There are different versions of the song :(

Your fantastic by the way, well done!

  • Thank you so much!

I'm quite sure that these are the lyrics by "Anúna" from the cd "The Celtic Circle". I'm sure they are to be found on google!

  • Beautiful!

  • beautiful

this style is perfect for you

  • Älskar det albumet <3

  • Du kommer aldrig bli arbetslös med den sångrösten :)

  • you should really think about doing something serious in music business...

if you can't sing I don't know who can :)

    riktigt jättebra ;)

  • What expressiveness! What lovely decorations! I've known this song since I knew what music was, sung it many times, played it on the harp, but never heard it done so well. Thank you.

  • Incredible Your voice is so soothing This makes the top ten for me as one of your best songs.

  • Beautiful-your singing also!! :-)

  • Flawless. I knew you'd perform it perfectly as soon as I saw the title. One of my favorites.

Elina, I think this is every bit as fine as that of Loreena McKennitt, and certainly beats Sinead O'Connor's (although it has its own magic, as well).

So, when will you finally audition for Swedish Idol? Hmmmmm?

  • Thanks! :)

I won't audition for Idol though.
