i charged crane creek on my canoe during fay.... class 6 rapids.... no joke,, lost my canoe ... its probaly in the top of a palm tree somewhere still.... that day by country club road and F>I>T.. i saw a guy on kayak get sucked under the road thru the pipe, he could of died easily if he would of got stuck in debris.. he popped out on the other side like 30 seconds later... it was gnarly..
I've done that route before after a flash flood. We started at the park by the gold course and rode it all the way through FIT to the manatee park, downtown. That was back in 1990. Good times. The rapids were a bit more gentle to us.
