Pastor Burrell is an AWSOME woman of GOD i will always support her. Its not that she was trying to be mean to the organist but we have to remember that there are some organist that will try to sound over the speaker and sometimes when people hear how nice the music sounds they take there attention off of the word. Ive got a friend who plays the drums for her and when she starts preaching in her concerts the musicians know that when she starts to preach they have to tune it down shes awsome.lol

With that being said I dont have time to pay much attention to your cloths or count your escorts. one vid I saw her talking about musty people at church, and people who have dirty cars, and people who try to sing and can't sing that good like she just did again-and she steadily gets bigger and bigger.I mean musty is musty but the Bible says come as you are. Its peopele like that who keep others out of church, why not take the musty one or the one who can't sing or whatever aside and mentor them. Be a friend and example to them not critcize people from the pulpit.

I say that kind of talk should be done in private, don't try to humiliate people. You don't know what they are going through and what is behind their actions. What is she going through, she must be going through something becuase she keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger.

She has to weigh 250Lbs atleast and if someone confronted her with that she would probably just get upset and defensive becuase there is pain behind that kind of weight and with that kind of weight. I used to really like okay LOVE her voice but those comments showed me her heart, and I will not support that with my time or MONEY. If you are before people singing for God you should humble yourself,humble your heart, and most of be an example of LOVE.

All speculation from 1 minute and 27 seconds worth of video... I've seen her in smaller settings where she was very kind, loving and gracious to an organist who couldn't even play "Lord I'm available to you". Real ministry is real, and rebukes us when we need it, and loves and encourages us also. Balance is key.

I think there is something to be said for open rebuke...it's good for the soul...and she is so right...this is a woman who has seen so much in her career that she's probably sick of it. Theres alot that we arent aware of...now she didn't have to do the organist like that...I aint crazy... but I happen to agree with her overall point, its not that serious she didnt cuss anybody out....she made a statement...it was probably a pompous type atmosphere and she was irritated....been there myself.....

I was there and the atmosphere was not like that at all. You have to understand your method of approach is everything even your introductory stance. I think alot of times we don't understand that the pulpit isn't the only powerful tool that one has it is also the MIC.

As a muscian and a Pastor, I think that often there is a misunderstanding between muscians that is on-going. In some cases something may be a weight for you, but not for me, as well as a distration for you, and not for me. Organist now days because of the old way are often misunderstood when it comes to backing some one up- my thing is be kind and remember where you came from so you don't forget where the other person is going. I totally agree. I like Kim, but her addressing the organist like that totally distracted from her message. It was totally unnecessary. There was nothing wrong with how he was playing. She was TALKING not singing, and he was backing her up. I was getting with what she was saying, but when she blasted the organist like that I was no longer tuned in to what she was saying. Again, I like Kim Burrell so before anyone gets all starstruck and tries to overly defend her you need to thunk objectively.

i respect the comments...but i don't think those types of putdowns have a place in "righteous anger". she didn't merely call into question someone's motives for singing, she was attacking their singing ability. as christians we should be careful not to point out "the spec of sawdust in our brother's eye" just for the sake of it, esp. considering that we all have shortcomings. there's a place for judgement, but it should be done out of love, not spite and arrogance.
