Eyefinity just means it can support up 2 6 monitors, reason why its called eyefinity-6,lol.

Thats the only problem with consoles they may be good at release but with pcs it is a double edge sword where you can upgrade all parts but can be a pain in the ass to get the best performance.
Pcs are good for pro flightsims and other games where you need good graphics and mutiple control inputs which all consoles dont have or are limited with the buttons on the controls.

I have the xfx version of this card and it plays l4d 2 at over 180 fps. And crysis around 50:) plus in newegg right now you can get a sweet psu with it.

Ati makes good cards also ,all my previous have been Radeons ( 4890 at the moment) but this time I must say nVidia delivered quite interesting card with gtx480 and soon I´ll buy it. Lets just say its more interesting than 5870/5970 . Besides with some games it delivers the same power than 5980 and is much cheaper. I allready have 750w powersupply so it wont be a problem.
Anyway, this is going to be interesting experiment :)

@niceboy60 NVidia cards have problems, too. It's like the console wars. both sides have issues because both, in the end, are related to computers (and let's face it, heh heh). Plenty of people are happy with their NVidias and ATIs, so no matter what I do, it won't make much of a difference.
What's more, an NVidia card with power close to that of the 5870 takes a ton of wattage, heat, and price.

$99 and $98. Those are nice since they're new, small, efficient, and don't need an extra power connection like a lot of other cards do.
The 5670 does have DX11 which six games can use so far, and triple monitor support while the GT 240 has DX10.1 and dual monitor support, and the 5670 is probably a touch faster, but part of me is more comfortable with Nvidia and that card is powerful with good features. Good prices.
they dont half to be the same to crossfire but if you crossfired with a much lower card you would be looosing performance, the better card will meet the lower one
GOt this bad boy hooked up , and its a nasty card, soo smooth graphics , so nice , so clear , i never thought it was possible but dammit it wasgood and felt good
The best way to do it, start with either the core or memory, and just push it in 5-10mhz increments, stress-testing it each time. When it starts spazzing out (lock-ups, artifacting, etc), back it down to where it wasn't spazzing out.
Your power supply will heavily factor into your overclock. If it's a crappy power supply, overclocking is not recommended. It puts more stress on it, and if it's a cheap-o, it will fail and take your hardware with it.
GTX 480 is $600-$800 but they say the GTX 470 will be $300 which is a lie i think but for now im just going to get the 5870 for now + I can't afford a 600 gpu
I spent a fortune on the new card. to upgrade my machine near my business. I actually initially bought 3 but sold one almost imediately as I couldnt get any benefit from the third. Today I cant use even 2 cards properly as the catalyst 10.2 drivers are so poor they have issues in invoking the second card. It will ok sometimes then next time you try to play will fail to utilise the crossfire card properly. They also "enhanced" the drivers. by removing some of the previous functionality!.
Great card though when it does work. Full DX11 and effects blazingly fast. Slaughter performance of my GTX295 based machine of almost the same spec. Not had them rght next to each other as they are in different properties but just based upon actually playing games. Would just avoid buying one if I had a choice again until they actually make drivers that work properly. Best hardware in the world is pointless if you cant use it properly.
There's an annotation in the video saying that DX11 can be supported on Vista with a patch. Only the 2nd time I've seen anything about it on Vista, but I think it was only on 7 to begin with.
for now only dirt 2, battlefield bad company 2, crysis 2 will soon out and starcraft, basically after march 2010 expect games to come out supported by dx 11

first,i like 360 cause the game is cool..but when i turn to pc....they have better graphic than 360...pc can support 1080p but 360 can support 720p..pc is awesome!!!!!also,i want to buy alienware m17x...

@Davo5673 LOL every game on xbox and ps3 are 720p , when it say 1080p in your display of your tv , it's 720p upscale in 1080p , but on a pc it's de real res , i got a Samsung Syncmaster XL 2370 LED monitor 1080p , my game on PC is a lot more beautiful , and it's not only about the res , Details too , i got an GTX 295 i max out all my game on Very high , and console have Directx 9 , we have direct 10

$99 and $98. Those are nice since they're new, small, efficient, and don't need an extra power connection like a lot of other cards do.
The 5670 does have DX11 which six games can use so far, and triple monitor support while the GT 240 has DX10.1 and dual monitor support, and the 5670 is probably a touch faster, but part of me is more comfortable with Nvidia and that card is powerful with good features. Good prices.

The best way to do it, start with either the core or memory, and just push it in 5-10mhz increments, stress-testing it each time. When it starts spazzing out (lock-ups, artifacting, etc), back it down to where it wasn't spazzing out.
Your power supply will heavily factor into your overclock. If it's a crappy power supply, overclocking is not recommended. It puts more stress on it, and if it's a cheap-o, it will fail and take your hardware with it.

The GTX 295 has 2 GPUs and is = to a 5870 but the 5870 only uses 1 gpu so overall the 5870 is cheaper and better

I spent a fortune on the new card. to upgrade my machine near my business. I actually initially bought 3 but sold one almost imediately as I couldnt get any benefit from the third. Today I cant use even 2 cards properly as the catalyst 10.2 drivers are so poor they have issues in invoking the second card. It will ok sometimes then next time you try to play will fail to utilise the crossfire card properly. They also "enhanced" the drivers. by removing some of the previous functionality!.

Great card though when it does work. Full DX11 and effects blazingly fast. Slaughter performance of my GTX295 based machine of almost the same spec. Not had them rght next to each other as they are in different properties but just based upon actually playing games. Would just avoid buying one if I had a choice again until they actually make drivers that work properly. Best hardware in the world is pointless if you cant use it properly.

There's an annotation in the video saying that DX11 can be supported on Vista with a patch. Only the 2nd time I've seen anything about it on Vista, but I think it was only on 7 to begin with.
