The first one looked like a 3" mortar, and the 2nd a 4". I'm 20 and I am one fireworks show away from taking my license test. Now, there is a BIG difference between the 1 3/4" mortars, and a 3-4-5-6-8" mortar, they probably died because the fuse burnt out right before it hit the quick match but there were still embers on it and then ignited while they were looking over it. Or a falling ember from the sky came and lit another one they had in another tube. These fireworks were NOT consumer grade.
