The only true thong about kendo is the smell of hakama, kendo gi and bogu after a training...but it is worst after a five days gashuku

Washing is the only way I get my folds in my hakama straight again :D

I always fold mine and lie it under my matress or use it as a pillow, the folds would look neater that way :)

My teacher taught me to use liquid soap (preferably for clothes, the water should be mixed with the soap) and use a spray to spray in on the kote, men etc. Then afterwards I leave them under the shade and let the wind dry them.

This way of 'washing' keeps them from molding and leaving odour

Yeah, about the parts from Bleach, the part when Ikkaku trained those guys and that other part with the smelly uniform were just for laughs, there are many funny scenes like that in Bleach... xDD And the part where those guys from the other school ganged up on them, it was intended so that the shinigami would have to compete, it's just a comical filler...

Shins can be a target if you're wearing Sune, but that's usually against naginata. As for the stink... it's not always too bad if you wash your gi. Otherwise, nice stuff.

Few issues with the vid, though it was very funny:

1. Multiple people vs One (at one time) was a standard practice for some, and some fighters were even up against teachers. However, this was more for war training, not for kendo training.

2. Those frog hops up stairs is a totally true drill. I've done it, and it IS painful. :-P

3. And yes, after a good workout, it does smell that bad (which reminds me, I have to wash my keikogi!)
