I've seen at least three different videos where D'Souza uses the same 'mosquito in a nudist colony' bit. He always uses it right after being asked a legitimately demanding question. Without such tactics (of style) his image would most likely collapse under the substance of his opponents' questions. He has many other tactics that are purely for style. I personally (along with my 6yr old son) stop every soldier or veteren I meet on the street to thank them for their service - I meet WWII veterens that I can identify by hats - pins - license plates - bumper stickers etc. - I want my son to understand that they are serving us. I would never tell my son that someone is a coward because he did not agree with the purpose of a certain war. Our leaders are not infalable. They are not perfect and many never served themselves or avoided it flat out
