SOL again made in TAIWAN dealer installed parts non warranty covered, think the dealer will tell you? NOPE!! not till theres a problem then its your SOL and goodluck!!!

  • dont get me wrong here, Sierra and Silverado are both brothers. But the Silverado is the younger more crazy and raw power, while the GMC Sierra is a more professional and laid back (still powerful) truck. LOVE EM' BOTH. Proud owner of a CHEVY SILVERADO! XD

    any car company that makes their transmissions start to go out every 120,000 miles is not a company I want to invest my money in. I'd rather pay a 1 time fee to get a minor GM electrical issue fixed than a new transmission every few years. And Fords lil F150 is gutless, don't even compare it too a GM.

  • The Sierra has an independent FRONT suspension. All half-ton trucks do, including the F150. The RAM 1500 is the only one with an IRS.

    GM did not compare the same class of trucks they just used a dodge without a locking differential. I could buy GM, or Ford 2wd base engine, and compare it to a Ram Laramie with a Hemi, 4wd, and lockers, who do u think will win

  • i am a chevy and dodge fan. i think it is pretty sad chevy is bragging about the 6.2 liter out horsepowering the .5.7 hemi. i mean a 5.7 has 390hp and 403ft pounds of torque. the 6.2 granted has 403hp and 417 torque. but its a 6.2! the little 5.7 comes pretty close for being smaller...

    I would rather have the Mustang than a new Camaro. The '99 Trans Am I owned was the best performance car I've ever had. I just don't like the Camaro interior. They put gauges in the console. That was acceptable back in the late 60's, in 2010, it isn't. You have to look away from the road and down to see them. That's bad in a performance car.

  • The Silverado and Sierra have the same powertrain (for now) but have different suspension and bed to cab links. The GM trucks have the best locking differential and with the new 6.2LV8, the best engine to do the job. Ford may be able to tow 11000lbs but it doesn't do me any good if I can't get the power to the ground.

The chain drops down one time in this video when the sierra is coming out of the hole and the dodge is still in the bottom, of course, changes in elevation have NO IMPACT on whether the chain is slack or not... I promise, GM is not attempting to deceive you with this commercial. Bottom line is, Tundra and Ram are vanity trucks that you never see doing work

  • Not to mention the new sierra doesn't have more horse power, torque, or better towing and payload than the tundra, the ford, or nissan titan , the 5.3 is the weakest v8 out there, their new 6.2 isn't even that impressive it still sucks, and i really used to like GM but this commercial is stupid. They should also mention that the trucks they are using in the commercial aren't the big v8 engines those trucks can come with. Chevy and GMC have gotten weak. My 5.7 has more power than their 6.0L

  • My tundra has more hp and torque than the 6.0 vortec this is from the gmc website "Engine, Vortec 6.0L Variable Valve Timing V8 SFI (360 hp @ 5400 rpm, 380 lb-ft of torque @ 4200 rpm)" the 6.2 isnt all that special and yes I know that it has more HP than my Suburban and my tundra but my suburban is pushing close to 600lb. ft. of torque and 350 hp. Any truck you buy is going to have ups and downs.

  • I have a toyota tundra 5.7L 4x4 and a chevy suburban 7.4L 454 4x4, tundra 5.7 4x4 gets better traction than any of the other trucks i have driven, the limited slip can be turned on and off, if i put it in 4wd low i can get through just about everything, there is no truck in the world that cant get stuck truck, i went to spring creek off road and had to pull a new sierra out of some slippery mud which my truck made it through in 2wd (he was in 4wd) and I pulled him out with my truck in 2wd

  • You guys do not get the point of the ad, its not to show off the power of these engines or anything like that, even though the 6.2L avaliable in the GMC and Chevy trucks will put the dodges HEMI and Toyotas 5.7L to shame, but the point is to show GMs locking differential opposed to the Dodges and Toyotas limited slip witch is garbage because it slips, all the trucks in this ad were 4x4s and even if the GMC was a 4x2, it would have still pulled those trucks out cause of the rear locker in it.

    Well then this commercial is a fake. If they want to test lockers, then they need to test LOCKING DIFFERENTIALS, NOT LIMITED SLIP. I've seen Toyota's LSD and ELD in action, they do quite well. Also, you can't possibly believe that a Sierra 6.2L would pull those trucks in 4x2 simply because it has a locker. That is bull shit bro, sorry. No truck with a locked diff would pull ALL those trucks in 4x2 because of the mud. The problem isn't slipping one wheel, it's slipping in total.

  • I stronlgy disagree. The GMC is a 4x4 in this video.. I have a 2008 silverado, and this past june at an air show 2 ford 4x4's got stuck. One got stuck in the mud, and the other got stuck trying to pull him. Idiot's driving is why they got stuck, and I am not ford bashing. Just driver bashing. I put a snatch strap on, and 2 tugs had them both out of the mud. Greasy clay, and they were in good. You can pull 2 trucks out, it is done quite often. The G-80 locker is quite good.

  • If you look closely in the video, the front tires are working too. They video is talking about the rear end locker. There is none in the front.. Limited slip is ok on the yota's, but the locking rear is more reliable and better than a limited slip. All my silverado's have had the G-80, and I have put them through hell& they always have performed remarkably.

  • Things break. Nothing man made is perfect and never will be. I have yet to see a G-80 break yet, even at all the stock pull's at diesel fest I go too. The LSD's only will engage for so long compared to the G-80 which will stay locked in until you let off the gas. Never had a problem my self, nor do the others who have it that I know of.. Things break, and any video can be made about it because of anger.

    Firstly there is a Silverado AND GMC both with the G80 what are the chances that both of their trucks lockers broke and if it did like you would like us to believe then it only adds to my argument.

    Second the video is made by pickuptrucks who give pretty good mostly unbiased reviews.

In the 9 years I have owned silverado's, I have yet to have a problem with one, and also the many people I know who have em too who have had no problems with them. These guys put em through more abuse than I do. They own duramax's& do heavy sled pulling.

A limited slip rear will only work so well, especially when off roading, or pulling out another truck, or even sled pulling.. Know 2 guys who have ford's with the 6.0& 6.4 diesel. Limited slip rear. They dislike it, especially when off-roading& sled pulling.. Each have switched to an aftermarket locking rear. The detroit locker, which isn't very much different than a G-80.

  • Ask any serious truck enthusiast, and they will always say a locker will always come out on top over a limited slip rear. As for the G-80. I Will stand by my praise of it. It isn't the best locker out there, but it does the job and then some, and yet to have one fail on me, or have yet to see one fail.

  • I would wager the G80 to be the worst on the market. When your getting beat by trucks without lockers there is no point in having one.
