I will beleive the ancestor worship theory over any UFO stuff. I also read somewhere that at one time there were trees on the island and that they were used to transport and erect the statues. They must have had some serious engineers to oversee all of this. They went to great feats to respect their chiefs,,the same way Americans put the faces of their great chiefs on Mt Rushmore and another great chiefs statue which sits in Washinton DC by the name of Lincoln.
*shudders* Those eyes make them look all the more eerie... I'm sorry, perhaps I do not understand the concept because I'm an outsider..? But mainly, Fabricated Eyes and the Easter Island statues have always given me the willies, and both together is just very creepy to me.
