Well, here I am, up too late ... and struggling, just a little bit, if I'm honest. was going to play 'Shine' by Daniel Lanois, but got waylaid by this title (that looks Portuguese, but sounds Irish). And suddenly, I'm among friends (or so it seems) ... people who want to feel, to express their feelings, to make contact. And I recall having a similar sense of camaraderie when I first discovered Shine on here ... a sense that this music is good for the soul.

@bigc14fb Worked a little harder at practice and enjoyed senior year a little more because that was the last time you would ever play football. Friday Night Lights is the only movie that brings me to tears. I miss football so much.

It's been 13 yrs since I strapped on a football pad. Today my son got his jersey for biddy football and has my number I wore in high school. Tonight it was just me and him driving with the windows down at sunset and I put on this song... It was just one of those moments that make life worth living.

Friday Night Lights will forever be my favorite movie, I always had the dream of playing in a State Championship game for my school. My school went 13 times from 1971-2002. We won 6 of those, we had football in Appalachia from 1924 until 2010. Now we consolidate with our rivals from 2 miles down the road and I will never get the chance to play in state for the Appalachia Bulldogs. I had 2 great years there and I wouldn't trade it for anything! Now its time to try to win a championship at Norton.

we went 6-4 and lost to the #1 team in state but this song here motivated us to try and win and one of our wins was against the attempting 3-peat champions Long beach Poly

thanks man, that means alot. i only have two years left and its so emotional for me to not be at my school. i mean, the town of Appalachia doesn't even have cell service. all we had was our high school and our football. and they're both gone:/

being a from Texas, this kinda music almost always plays in your heart when your team doesn't make it to the next round. You just always hope that the next year your team does better and at least goes on. Down here in Texas, football is a way of life so listening to a song like this will totally make sense to you whether you win or lose. Other states football not so much, not doggin on them. but they don't know Texas football. Saw'em Off!

I have to admit that I cried to this song for about an hour after we lost in the first round of the playoffs my senior year. That was about 3 years ago now, and this song still makes me sad inside but at the same time it reminds me of some of the best days of my life.

If you like the songs in Friday Night Lights also check out the band Explosions In The Sky..they have a similar sound and did most of the songs in the movie not the show..this is a great song!!!!
