Nice review. Im getting word at war for christmas on ps3 and lots of other games. and im getting a ps3 (i already own a 360). I want this game but i cant get it. i might be able to get call of duty 4. and also im getting call of duty 3 for wii.

i feel they kind of messed up the online adding to much to it although it does add more variety to it all around i much prefer the they made a new rainbow six game with good story and multiplayer

i supose this game was alright but to me it wasnt much differant to the original and really lots of games would be ahead of it in my top 10 fave games its not won my heart that still goes to the orange box on pc but to other people hu like it and the 10 year olds screaming MW2 completes my lief i wud commit suicide if i didnt own it enjoy your game :)

a bit of a disappointment but still fun. Im happy infinity ward made the multiplayer what it is but i find treyarch ( makers of the WWII call of dutys) make an overall better game

But I think Treyarch get a lot of undeserved hate. I loved driving vehicles in COD3 and WAW, Infinity Ward seem to think it's sacrilege to include them in their games.

On top of that, I think Treyarch has some better MP maps as well. I wish we could see a game with the best elements of both developers.

Indeed, I did hear that the next COD game Treyarch is working on though is set in the future, so that could be interesting.

I've been playing with Goose a bunch lately. We both want to play with guys who actually use teamwork and communication. I wouldn't worry too much, just play the game and enjoy it for what it is.

Or if you really want to avoid boycott the PC one, get the console version instead.

No offense, but I refuse to pay 60 Dollars on a game that hasn't been updated to it's full potential. Even the original Modern Warfare wasn't anything original (Don't get me wrong I own the game and I did enjoy it) but it wasn't innovative in my eyes. Now a game that IS well worth 60 dollars is Uncharted 2 which has so much more to offer this time around the bend. But that's my opinion and if you spend $60 on Call of Duty 4 again...have fun.

Good review Larry! But my only gripes with COD series is that they are fogging short.... but I guess it's much better than dragging it too long with unnecessary levels. I still prefer FPS to be played in PC due to the Mouse & Keyboard combination than a PS3 joypad.

GO FORTH AND SPREAD WORD, CAPTAINCLAYMAN HAS DECIDED REALITY IS NOW VASTLY DIFFERENT, WE MUST MAKE IT SO.

..except for the fact that MW1 had a huge modding community and could support up to 54 players at once.

..and MW2 supports 16 (iirc?) and absolutely zero modding. And every prior COD also had those features, and is mostly why it was popular in the first place.

..also tournaments can't be held now.

While you are somewhat correct that it has sold millions on consoles, the only reason why it made it to the fourth iteration in the first place is because of the online community.

It's not an arguement for making a game successful, it's an arguement for making it worth it for the end user. If dora the explorer's wii game made enough money to warrent a sequel, it shows nothing about the quality of a game that sells well.

As great as MW2 may be, I'm becoming more and more convinced that IW's staff from CoD4 has been cloned and entirely re-staffed by said clones. Only problem is that said clones have also had their 'douchebaggery' setting turned up to 11.

Yes, I'm yet another jaded PC gamer, but the latest blow has come from the fact that IW said that CoD4 couldn't be done on the Wii... then treyarch comes along and shows them they were wrong. It actually doesn't look bad at all on the Wii.
