I'm not an expert, in fact I'm just a rookie in the drum world, but I believe the problem Jason has is that he is not using his wrists, I mean if you watch carefully you can see how he waves all his arm to hit. In addition he has not as much feel and understanding of the dynamics as Cobus has, specially in the more calm parts of the song, just saying... ;)

It's really hard to judge who is better and who isn't. Because they're both great drummers. And the reason it is harder to judge, is because a lot of people have their own preference and styles they like. If one person likes Cobus, another will like Jason.
