Gobots gets a bum rap, but it's not all undeserved. The biggest flaw was poor marketing. Both toylines originated from Japan, but Tonka gave them the lamest of names and designated the heros and villains. If they made the large or delux size Guardians and Renegades the important characters and all the little figures their minions like the Transformers did they might have succeeded. Overall it didn't matter to me since my neighbor and I combined forces to have more impressive robot armies.

No he moved away and we lost touch and I'm not sure if his Mom sold off his stuff or not. Except for the deluxe sized ones most of the toys were the size of mini Autobots so it worked just fine. Sometimes we added some other knockoffs in there too. Funny thing was we spent so much time positioning our respective armies that we only had a few hours left to do battle.
