Actually, it was originally written for the Pocketwatch cassette dave made before Nirvana ended. Kurt Cobain liked the song so he asked Dave to do it on a B-Side

Dave wrote the song just before kurt asked him to join the band, but it wasnt untill 1993 in the in utero demo sessions that they finally recorded it.

It was nirvana's b side on the heart shaped box single!!

I think Kurt was happy for Dave to take some credit for a song for a change. You may also be interested to know dave wrote the material for scentless apprentice which did make the in uetro album!
