This had all the ingredients for a hit, so why wasn't it? Her voice is pleasant, and certainly unique. Anyway, she had a million seller, which is more than a lot of singers manage to do. Great song.
@frankiehiyo I agree - this song seemed like it's in the pocket for being a hit. Still - she had a #1 song (#1 for 13 weeks in a row - fairly unheard of as hits go) and even though she told me she thought the song was a dud when she was first offered it - just goes to show.
How pretty and beautiful she was. Brought some wonderful memories...when I was a child...I remember seeing her in person at The Albee Theatre in Cincinnati. I saw her and Nat King Cole on the same bill. Hard to imagine..however, the Albee had live shows like this in between movies...that continued until the 1970s. Thanks for posting.

I just recently heard a song by her for the first time and she is wonderful. Love this video and all the pictures!

I just co-produced a two-volume set of her radio performances from 1936-1958 (age 11 to 34!). Check it out on iTunes; just search for Eileen Barton.

This is a great song, arrangement, and vocal. I wonder why it was not a major hit.

The sad part is she left us back in June 2006.
I had the pleasure of knowing her in late yrs after her fame yrs. And have to say she was the greatest as a person. And is very missed.
