  • Thats small pecker type pitchin gtfo

  • ooo and i just seen the other comment...@alaestia first of all i wasnt trying to be a jackass......and yes u can hurt yourself without proper mechanics...and i hav no problem...and no i dont think im perfect...and i did look in the mirror about 3 years ago...now im a 10 grade starting varsity pitcer throwing 88-90.....IF U CORRECT UR FLAWS U WILL BE BETTER thats all im saying....ahahaaahaa

  • @weatherbyboy3006 hey man dont comment here nobody cares about your comments, get the fuck out of here

  • @alaestia i care bitch

  • he breaks his hands to early he flys open and he go way off balance which putts him in a less that ideal fielding position...im not saying hes bad but he has some things to work on.....and if u get a higher leg lift u can probly get a few mphs to......so @erb01001 u get a life !!

  • First of all. There are no major problems with his mechanics. It looks like he's giving it everything he has into this pitch (w/ good mechanics ) which is what you're supposed to do with every pitch! He filmed with a radar gun which legitimizes what he says as opposed to most pitching videos on tube which just give a number without any hard evidence to back it up. I'm tired of these negative horses going around trying to tear anybody down who makes a legitimate promoting video. Get a life !!

  • sorry but u have some serious flaws in ur mechanics...

  • @weatherbyboy3006

so what? does it hurt you in any way? what is your problem? you have some serious problems on you life you just go around to see who you correct thinking that you are perfect, go to wal mart and get a life moron, dont come here saying what i need to correct look at yourself in the mirror and correct yourself first ahahha

  • hey mr bronx i want you to go watch a video of daisuke...he does this the only thing different is the hesitation...plusmomentum pitching is harder time, harder to pick up the off spped stuff,.

  • This dude is awesome! People on You Tube are just jealous of motivated people who get good. Everyone, go get a good coach and go train instead of resenting greatness.

  • pros wouldn't sign you cause you are a high risk for injury...plus 84 without movement and location is meat in the minor and major league level

  • LOL momentum mechanics thats shit dude you probally cant throw a curveball for your life

  • momentum mechanics are actually best.

These are over the top though.

He should take a 15 - 25 inch step strait back and glide through never hitting a balance point.

  • ur a tool

  • goood lord

  • no one is ever going to look at you seriously with your technique

  • do you understand how fast a base runner could a get a hop off this kid, plus the posture is horrible

  • isnt he pitching from the wind up?...

  • i can't imagine any college coach interested in a player like this.. the mechanics are sooooooo bad

  • i hate your mechanics they're so sloppy and stiff

  • dude that sucked

  • balk!

  • what the fuck are you talking about. how is that a balk

  • how could it be a balk if the pitcher is in the windup? You could do whatever the hell you want to in the windup.

  • he took his foot off the god damn mound!

  • you're right, he did!

  • i know some people can say well nolan ryan had a long stride and he threw very hard, that is correct but if you look at some slow motion frames of him you can see a large degree of hip torso separation. i'm not saying that dick mills is completely wrong because his ideas are good, if you can have a large degree of hip torso separation, long stride and good timing than u pretty much have very good mechanics. peace out and god bless

  • i believe that some of dick mills ideas are true that pitching is a momentum activity not strength and that the legs do help to generate velocity, however he is wrong about the fact that there is no hip torso seperation when pitching. you dont necessarily need a very long stride to pitch at high velocity. look at the pitchers like bob gibson, bob feller, walter johnson, dizzy dean, lefty grove they don't have a very long stride but they have a high degree of hip torso separation

  • oh my god fix those mechanics please......

  • you meatheads talking about baseball like youre goddamn scientists or doctors. what a bunch of dopes!

  • if u wanna throw even harder go to tom house, he is the pitching guru that teaches nolan ryan, mark prior, randy johnson, and orel hershiser

  • its so fast his hat falls off

  • Looks like he either has a really bad video camera, or was video taping a TV of someone else, hence the shaky lines...

  • I suppose these people are unaware that to gain velocity, one has to increase speed of movement and momentum (and refine the skill of pitching).

  • I suppose you are unaware that is complete bullshit. Don't listen to everything Dick Mills says, theres a reason the guy had only spent about 35 seconds in the show.

  • i suppose that you obviously know nothing about pitching mechanics if you think his stuff doesn't work. ask tim lincecum. nolan ryan, josh beckett, and lincecum are perfect examples of how mills' advice works. it worked for me (79-81 mph to 87-89 mph in 5 months) and worked for a friend of mine that is now on full ride at mount olive.

  • well thats weird because DII schools dont have full rides :/

  • my bad, he's on the biggest scholarship that they can give him, which i believe is 60% or close to that number.

  • Lincecum has major hip/torso separation. That is how he generates insane velocity. Stop focusing on the stride; it's way less important than separation.

  • if you think that the separation its more important than the stride tell me how the hell do you create that separation? obiously you cannot create it from nothing what creates that separation its the stride, yes its true that lincecum has the best separation on the mlb but look at his stride its very very big take a look at one of my videos of lincecum the commentator says "he takes an extremly long stride to the plate" you cannot create separation from nothing you have to focues on the stride

  • then why are you topping out in the low 80s and Lincecum is hitting upper 90s?

  • dude, think before saying something, its impossible to compare two guys, each individual has different ablilities, and diferent limits, the thing is how better you can be not trying to be better than someone else

  • limits? its not hard to get your velocity up, all you need is the work ethic and good sports specific training and knowledge on how to take care of your self, and knowing how to take care of your rotator cuff muscles... LIKE DOING ROTATOR CUFF WORK OUTS! haha, do you plan to play in college or something? or just pitch bcause you're bored?

  • alaestia. Naw not really. Hey I'll just message you privately, but how much do you weigh. It looks like you are smaller statured. 84 is a decent velocity. A precision pitcher could take that to the majors if they were able to hit that velocity second nature and play around with placement.

  • how old are you

  • Agreed. There are so many Dick Mills fanboys on this site. There's nothing wrong with generating momentum into footplant (it's good), but Mills/Rushall believe that the hip/torso turn at the same time. LOL, good one. They even tout Lincecum as an explosive pitcher, which he is, but guess what? He has the best hip/torso separation of all pitchers in the MLB.

  • dick mills is full of crap. If he knows all about pitching, why isnt his name up there with nolan ryan, bob gibson and other famous pitchers of his time??? and if momentum pitching gives you the speed.. how the hell is joel zumaya able to throw 103 mph!?!?

  • 1) He didn't know what he knows now back then. Joel moves fast (not as fast as he could) for a big man, more mass towards the target = more velocity. He may have more fast-twitch muscle fibers, which would also benefit him.

Does he throw 103 mph though? The answer is no. Home stadiums overestimate MPH of their pitches to try and intimidate hitters + make the fans more happy. They love hard throwers. Does Joel throw hard? Yeah. 103? No.

  • There is a new technology that uses cameras and software to obtain the data. This new technology comes from Major League Baseball in its Advanced Media section. Part of Enhanced Gameday tracks pitch speed, break, and trajectory.[13] One pitch registered on this was clocked at 104.8 mph at release by Joel Zumaya. This was during Game 1 of the ALCS against Frank Thomas of the Oakland Athletics on October 10, 2006, at Oakland's McAfee Coliseum

    this enough info for ya?

  • I meant consistently. Even then that pitch still hasn't been officially recognized. It's still Nolan Ryan back in 74

  • dick mills learned this stuff after he retired. That is why. He studied. And he is not full of crap, he has helped me a lot. I was throwing 76 at the beginning of my junior year and by the end i hit 84. My senior year i hit 89 thanks to him.

  • why do u think his son (ryan mills) had such a short career? i thought he threw 97 in college, 1st round pick, but only lasted 6 years all in the minors 98-04. He had a 9.00 ERA one year and had a 5.00 average.

  • dont spin off, your losing power because your not putting all your weight forward

  • take a look at this video i dont get call a balk when i use this wind up

  • That was a NICE BALK!!! You cannot lift your right foot off the mound if your a righty pitching. And how do you know that 84MPH? Your release at the end; the snap of your arm and wrist was descent but you weren't even looking where you were throwing. And what's up with that giant leap backwards. You need to learn how to pitch from a short windup. You can really hurt your shoulder throwing like that; trust me. Your windup sucks and is a BALK

  • trust me, i pitch in college, u are allowed to briefly remove your "rubber" foot. Lots of people, including me, tap their "rubber" foot while winding up.

  • yes you are look at Paul Byrd Pitching or any pitcher throwing form the windup you are allowed to lift you foot off the rubber as long as you finish throwing the ball to home plate

  • There is too much to correct in such a short space. Never ask for advice via this method, instead seek someone that really knows pitching and get good, solid advice. Also, try keeping your hat on so you can react if a ball is hit towards your head!

  • this mechanic is completely fine, I see you are one of the "momentum pitching" students. Your mechanics are perfect in your path, if you got 84 with that congrats, I have no doubt you did that.

  • wow you guys are idiots

  • can you tell me what is wrong? and how to fix it. thank you

  • Just about everything is wrong with your delivery.

  • sawn bad quaility plus how do we know that thats 80 mph
