Christian isn't going to be moved to another brand, at least not in the near future. It's his talent that keeps him there. He's giving ECW a push just like he did TNA. Some of TNA's highpoints had Christian in the main event. He's very entertaining and an ideal choice to bring prestige to the brand. But they moved Matt Hardy(the last guy in that job) so maybe he will get a move if WWE pushes for a rivalry with Edge. That would be an instant classic.
Completely not a mistake. WWE is doing the exact opposite of the mistake TNA does with every new and established ex-WWE superstar. TNA has this bad habit of putting those established stars right into title contention the second they sign up. WWE is re-establishing Christian's fanbase on an easy brand and once he's that has reached its apex he'll be moved to one of the main brands as a main eventer.
That's the difference in quality between WWE and TNA.
I see where you're coming from. It may be worth mentioning though that it is believed Vince McMahon isn't too hot on Christian as a headline talent. By putting him on ECW they kinda hedged their bets - Vince didn't want him in the WWE title picture on Smackdown, and didn't feel he was good enough to be on Raw, but by putting him on ECW, a brand in need of some talent, they can see what he's capable of and if he gets over.
He's proving himself on ECW, so he deserves a Smackdown switch soon.
The problem with moving him from ECW is that you lose your biggest ECW ticket. For the last two weeks ECW has been "must see TV" for me. What with the Hart Trilogy and a personal favorite of mine, Zack Ryder (Woo woo woo!) I thoroughly enjoy ECW.
Take Christian away and it loses out.
And another thing: Sci-Fi clearly wants to make ECW its flagship show ala USA and Raw. The show ran 5 minutes long last night and they recently switched it to a better timeslot.

Haha, TNA a "great company"? I must say I strongly object to that. He got out of TNA now because he had wrestled everyone there for 3 years, and if he didn't make the switch back to the stronger company (WWE will pay him more, and have a brighter future when it comes to longevity) he may not have had the chance at a later time - he capitalised on him being at the peek of his career and in high demand.
If he works hard, WWE will have no option but to push him to the main event level.
