But sometimes when a vehicle is not an SUV or hatchback with open cabin, it can yield bigger numbers going this way. The trunk must be completely sealed, port facing driver, and reverse the phase on the amp to make the subs hit in instead of pushing out

@scoreman75 They are a great all around sub for music and spl, they can only be found used though, rockford hasn't had them in production for years. The amps can be purchased from any Digital Designs retailer.

@Eastvalley15 it helps to seal off the subwoofers. often, subs leak a little air around the mounting hole. by adding tape to those areas, you can net higher spl levels, which it looks like this guy knows how to do. sure it doesn't look pretty, but i highly doubt that is what this setup was made for.

@1purplehaze4 Um, this box is probably designed using software beyond your reach of knowledge. Plus adding another sub would not only make it sound like shit, it would also put him in a different class in SPL competition. And he would get raped for having 3 12's in a crappy box (if he took your poor advice). Stick with your Best Buy settup's and prefab'd boxes...maybe you'll learn what car audio is in the future.

i guess the people talking shit about the tape and "tinfoil" dont realize what its for. the tape and ac tape (what is being referred too as tinfoil) are for extra assurance that there is no air leaks. he is a world champ for a reason. he knows what he is doing. not the average youtube user with their l7's in their carpeted prefab box.

@Eastvalley15 it helps to seal off the subwoofers. often, subs leak a little air around the mounting hole. by adding tape to those areas, you can net higher spl levels, which it looks like this guy knows how to do. sure it doesn't look pretty, but i highly doubt that is what this setup was made for.

@dnieto78 Hmmm...I highly doubt that, seeing as this is most likely pretty high in the spl range, especially with only 2 subs. This looks like a solid box. It doesn't really look that great, but it definitely gets loud.

@kintarben not true! my friends two 15 DC subs are gorgeous! amp is under rear bench seat and subs are built into a floor for his suburban, he is hitting high 150s you cant see a single wire is what i ment by all that. i think its gorgeous! lol

@Antithropocentric I watched your video.. and it has ZERO to do with people that compete in competitions, these are not tuned for cruising the streets. Most are for one or two second "burps".. You have the real people confused with the the average kid. Not to mention, most people dont just sit in one spot with the tunes crunk up.. They drive past, you hear them for a matter of seconds.. Do you troll on videos about trains, motorcyles, loud cars or police sirens.. as they are more annoying.

@Antithropocentric the volume is NEVER that high while driving and there is ZERO chance of the car breaking at the spl level, so sorry I build loud cars and play them at sanctioned competition events and support the companies that sponsor me. I didn't realize getting paid to do what you love gets trumped by the cool factor :)
