  • Good video here :) you can check out weight loss expert talking on fox - /watch?v=9QpzdK7wdYY

  • I MOST THANK YOU EMILIA I AM THINKING ABOUT THE SURGERY

  • Amelia... thank you first and foremost again and again for being a real person behind the camera. Tonight I posted about my own regain to answer messages from people talking about my own "fatness" and remembered how much this video helped me when I was eating from pain. Attached the link of your video to that one to offer how much strength ALL OF US call up to not only go through this journey but (and maybe more so) put it all out there on computer. Miss your honesty woman. Hope all is well!!!

  • i miss you

  • YOu look so good. I was wanting WLS but my insurance doesn't cover it. I am impressed with your success. Keep it up, and don't let anyone discourage you! You seem awesome.

  • Also, there are great meds that help supress the effects of PCOS and Hirsutism that some times accompanies PCOS. Find a good endocrinologist.

  • WLS is a tool. Just like other things in life.....healthy food, exercise, support systems, honesty, etc. Some times the tools work, some times it takes work to work the tools and some times things work great. Just keep on going.

  • Just check out some of your channel and just wanted to say your dedication on maintaining your health is inspirational. It shows that you are strong and hope nobody else can make you feel otherwise. Keep it up and +1 for standing up for yourself! :)

  • I love what u said about Weight loss is a constant battle. WLS is not the cure all. I realize its always gonna be a struggle for me. Ur right ab having a plan and getting used to a new lifestyle. People are so critical judging us for looks vs who the person really is.

  • I love what u said about Weight loss is a constant battle. WLS is not the cure all. I realize its always gonna be a struggle for me. Ur right ab having a plan and getting used to a new lifestyle.

  • Hi Amelia: I really enjoyed your video today. I had RYGB 9-8-08 and lost 120 quickly, then maintained loss for one year and just started slowly gaining (25) lately... so I'm now very aware of being a compulsive eater - going to OA for help and eventually to see a psychologist. If you find later that you're gaining back weight again, don't beat yourself up, its a common food addiction and OA has tools for us to overcome this disease. I'm glad to see your success, be encouraged, eat nutritiously.

  • you carry your weight really well

  • Need to get on your knees and thank Jesus for saving your life!

  • Love your haters, embrace them, they keep us on our toes!

  • the last thing you need is a high quality web cam

  • You rock, lady! I love you!

  • congrads girlie i am really happy for u for keeping ur self on target and dont let any one get u down

  • you look great and never feel bad

  • SHOW YOUR TITS!

  • I love your shirt Amelia!! :D

  • We are all so fearful one day it will sneak up on us all those lost pounds and just attach again forever. Day by day you took it off surgery was a lifeline to pull you out, keep looking up and not around when we try to please others we forget that the ones we will never please are the judgmental ones and they really don't matter now do they?

  • Amelia, I got so angry (not at you) after watching this. You know, you put yourself out there trying to let others have some insight on what this whole weight loss/bypass journey is like and then some assholes have the nerve to insult you. Forget them. Don't let them hurt your feelings, because it is obvious you have more courage and balls then they ever will. You have taken this journey, they haven't- and until they have, they can just stuff it. :)

  • @edavis51907 She is fine as she is. She needs to make more flex videos. massagegoddess also gains muscle easily. She can start to lift a couple of more pounds per week and hit the weights. She will do very well! Powerliftergirl.

  • Obesity is like alcoholism. Its a horrible disease some of us have to fight daily. We never get a break.

  • @worriedwasper

    that's so true

  • Amelia DON'T beat yourself up for your weight gain; this video is difficult for me to watch because it seems as if you are trying to explain your weight gain. before my surgery (i'm 4 months out), i used to watch your videos and you were an inspiration to me. I like what your page says because its true--this surgery definitely isn't for woosies! Keep your head up and be encouraged because you are stronger than you know!

  • to those who want to criticize you i don't feel that you owe your audience an explanation because until you have this surgery, you can never really understand how difficult it is to not only maintain your regimen, but deal with all the physical and mental changes!

  • You look really good in this video. You actually look healthy! Which I'm sure you were at this point.

  • Comment removed

  • is this the latest video?

  • I just love you!! You are soo much fun! I have followed all of your vids. and You helped me soo much through my 16 weeks post op and before I even thought about gastric bypass! your vids are like my lil bible! Thank you soo much hun! HUGS!!!

  • Ameila where are you??? We miss you! Praying for you hope you are doing well.

  • Wow, you lost a TON of weight and look fantastic!

  • Amelia, where are you?

  • I think you look awesome Amelia... Loving the long hair...

  • You are fine hun. The weight is the beast we are so unfortunate to have. Anyway as long as we have each other, people struggling with weight, we can do anything. If it was so easy no one would be overweight.

  • Same here... I have gained, I had surgery 3 months after you. I really think you look great!

  • thank you!!! You rock!!! Im almost 2yrs out and all I have to say issssss!!! Thank you!!

  • Come back!!!!!!! We miss u! I am having surgery on Ocrober 21, 2010. Please share what I should have in the home when I come home from surgery! I miss ur updates

  • We missed you and not able to see you online. You gained weight last time you spoke. We love you anyway. I feel like I know you from everything that you have shared here. It has been a journey, you survived it, then almost died, and now gained some weight back. I worry if you have died? Are you okay? Did you have complications again? It all just stopped. So I am concerned if you are alive. You are a beautiful person inside and out. listen from day 1 videos - b4 posting

  • All I hear is excuses excuses excuses blah blah blah. After this surgery you should be looking better & better & better. Less weight=more energy-therefore no excuses to not workout, get fit and change life style. This is why I don't believe in WLS. Hey your all your WLS video's are about this transformation. If you fall off the horse, some people will remind you that you fell off the horse, while your on the ground- that comes with the territory of posting videos. Use it as motivation.

  • Go you! Shame those smack talkers! You are a beautiful girl inside and out and you have an amazing insight that takes most people years to gain! Just keep truckin' and doing your thing :D

    Keep up the good work!!

  • Oops, and I forgot to mention that I watched your whole series one night about a year ago (ok maybe I skipped some toward the end after about 5 hours) and watching your physical transformation in one night was a big inspiration to me to continue on my (non-WLS) weight loss.

  • Hey, as long as I'm signed into my youtube account I want to comment that I also think you look great, much better than you did in your prom dress video, when you looked a little weak-blooded. Glad you're feeling better and living normal and hopefully things are going well with the RN stuff. I've been thinking about RN-type careers. Supposedly there will be a greater need for them as time goes on.

  • Hey, Amelia. People sometimes suck and that's how it is. For some people, if you aren't as skinny as a Hollywood celebrity, you're too fat. Sick. Anyway, I hope you update soon (been a while). Hope all is well.....

  • Wow! I've been watching the uploads of your weight loss journey, it's been so inspirational! Your positive, down to earth and tell it how it is attitude is so refreshing. Keep up the good work. You look healthy and beautiful.

  • what do you mean? she's bigger than a cow

  • Dude... you got fucking skinny.

  • Hi Amelia !

You look absolutly beautiful ! I have been following your vblog here on youtube since before i did my own gbp in sweden last september . Your honesty and everything you are bringing up in your videos has helpt me alot during my own gbp journey and im so grateful of that so keep it up girl :)

    Love Jenny

  • Amelia - you look wonderful! Your vids were inspirational to me (I'm a guy) starting two years ago, and I am now 3m post RNY op. Down 75 lbs to 220 current weight. Goal weight is 180. I just watched your Peterson Hernia vid, and this one of course. I am thankful you are OK now, and like I said, you look great! The boob job comment cracked me up...I had noticed you were "chestier" than I'd seen you....hey, I'm a guy, we notice things like that! But thanks for the heads-up. Love ya, Rexx

  • oh my goodness even with some weight gain you look AMAZING....make it sound beautiful why dont you...LOL.......My thought on WLS is it is a tool not the answer...so i totally agree you still have to watch what you eat...

  • I think you look better in this video , not like your starving.

  • you got fat again

  • @UsaBoy91 she didn't get fat jack-ass she got healthy didn't you even listen to what she said............I swear some people are just to stupid

  • I hope you are healthy, happy and thriving at whatever weight you are and i send you understanding and love. Im trying not to beat myself up for failing again so i hope you have stopped too. You are beautiful and entertaining and have keptme company through this very stressful night and kept me distracted with your cats, your insights and your humour. And your tupperware!!!!

    Be happy and well Amelia.

    Love from Lynn in Australia

  • Dear A, I didnt plan on staying up so long but 4 hours later i have watched alot of your videos. I just wanted tosay that i know exactly how you feel. I have lost alot of weight several times (75lbs+ at least 5 times!!!!) I have done regular counting calories, milkshake diets etcetcetc!!! and 2 years ago i lost way over 100 and weighed in at 151and 6 weeks ago i weighed in at 306 pounds! Damn! I did it again!!!

So many looked to me for 'the secret 'now look cheated by me as i failed again.

  • Hi Lynn and Amelia:

Just read your message about gaining weight back and feeling like a failure. YOU'RE NOT! Losing and gaining weight is part of the food addiction, and can be dealt with by using tools for recovery through OA meetings, psychology, bariatric meetings and learning about nutrition and successing each day. Be encouraged, you are NOT alone.

  • Im thinking about doing the sleeve, Ive been watching alot of peoples videos, and just wanted to say you guys are all such inspirations. So much has changed from before your surgery. I am very happy for your acomplishments and hope to achieve half your success. Thanks ! I bet for every 1 hater you have 10,000 people rooting for you keep up the positive attitude and shine on!

  • Amelia-

I miss you and I hope you are okay.

    Lovingly,

    monica

  • I miss you!

  • Hello, My name is Lisa and I am 2 1/2 wks pre-op (Aug 3) for Gastric Bypass by Dr.Robert Davis in Houston, TX. I have been watching your videos and have learned so much. Thank you for posting and taking me step by step. I wish much success on your journey. Keep posting and I'll keep watching.

  • Hey Amelia!! Just wanted to say I miss ur vids!! I hope school & work are going well & you are having a good summer!

  • Hi Amelia, I am new to the wls community, not new to weight loss or gain though. I just want to say, I have watched many of your videos, and I think you are sweet and vulnerable...both very endearing qualities. I saw some of the very mean comments, and it blows my mind, how many haters are out there. The fact is, we all have addictions and flaws, some peoples are clearly not physical, but their own issues are what make them attack others!! Please don't stop posting, you are an inspiration!!

  • Thanks for posting this. You are an encouragement.

  • I am male and my weight is 435 Pounds and considering Gastric surgery. I have watched your journey through the videos you have posted and you are an inspiration to me. Don't let peoples negative comments, who do not know what it is to big big, effect you. Hope you are happy and doing well at college. xx

  • Screw the mean people..Your back on track and that is what counts. Thanks for your inspiration.....God Bless

  • I think u look great. I have lost 10o lbs since surgery 8 months ago. I dont know who i am. Im so frustrated. I think I should b so much further. My marriage is over. Ive transered some of my old addictions and im able to eat more and my old habits r coming back. Soda is the only thing that feels good to drink. I try to resist it but it hurts to drink water. Alot of bittersweet things about wls.

  • I think that you look good, i also think that this stress from what ppl think is not good.

i am looking to see if you have any updated videos. I am looking into getting a tummy tuck and an arm tuck, i am scheduled to have my first apt for a breast reduction, and i came across your videos. I am going to opt out of getting the WLS, and try to do it on my own after i get the girls done and my wings cut, but good for you. and dont feel bad for what youve done and where you are today.

  • i think you look great...and i think that we all can gain are weight back and gastric bypass surgery is not a quick fix to where we do the surgery and we forever stay thin... so you hang in there and you lost it once and you will lose it again...stay strong and dont listen to the haters...

  • i am strictly against wls, so i'm glad that someone can document the negative ALONG WITH all the "gee i lost weight" stuff by itself. not everybody gets a "good" doctor. not everybody has an "advocate". if everyone keeps saying wls is "the cure" then one day it might be a "mandate". WLS does kill people. WLS defenders like to disregard "those people". I could not complain about WLS if it didn't hurt and kill people.

  • @luvembigger Every surgery hurts and you can get complications with them that sometimes can cause death, everybody knows that...

  • You look great. Keep in mind all the progress made and that this is a life time struggle - its never over with. Be positive! :)

  • You do look great, and not being ignorant or anything, your chest is probably 20lbs in itself!! LOL So really, you should feel like you are at your HAPPY WEIGHT! hahahahha Hang in there girl!

  • Amelia, where are you? I miss watching your videos so much. Please check in! So many people are concerned about you. If it's your weight, well most people watching these videos can relate. Whether it's a gain or some other challenge you are facing. Don't listen to the negative comments. Anyone who has had a problem with weight totally understands. Please make some videos! Even if it's just some graphics letting us know that you are doing o.k.

  • Awww... some people really like to stick their nose in where it doesn't belong. I've always been told if you're going to do anything to someone, you better be benefiting from it or what is the point. Anyways. I second that WLS is not a cure-all. That's what I hate about telling anyone and everyone. It's not that I'm ashamed, I just don't want to hear the negative smack talk. I'm a year and half out and have lost 160lbs. BUT, I have had to track every bite I eat and exercise at least 3-4 x a week

  • Hey, I just wanted to tell you I think it's very cool that you've posted your experience here on youtube ... my mother will be getting this surgery and it's really nice to see you experiences ... you're looking great! You look great!!

Again, thank you ;) ... and you looked super cute with your Regina Spektor/Ben Folds sing along!

  • That is why you need to work on making permanent habit changes in how you eat and not depend on surgery.

  • shouldn't have had an surgery and just worked hard to get the weight off.

  • I think you look beautiful and healty

  • it worked great!

  • Girl u look beautiful fuck anyone who says different!

  • I think I have watched every single video you have recorded on utube. All of them - and I love you. You are amazing to put yourself on camera and takes a lot of guts to do that. Do not let others define the person that you are. I will send quick question on email. Thanks

  • oh amelia. i miss your updates so much! I MISS YOU.

  • U LOOK beautiful AND HEALTHY . We should stop worrying so much about what people tthik, u look lookl like u have a great personality, fun to be around, and ur very pretty gal!. please dont stress the small things in life just enjoy it with ur friends and family.we r only here once and u were fortunate enough to have a second chance. live happy aand be well swetty

  • I want to blow a load all over those titties.

  • Wow Amelia I just went thru a few videos that recorded 3 years of your life. it is extremely brave of you to make these videos. Your ordeal speaks to the trend in our society. All of these quick fixes. There can be many reasons for over eating and I think attacking the source is so much more effective than the quick fix. I have yo yo my entire life. The happiest I have been was when I was in my zone loving myself. You are really brave. I am proud of you for sharing with the world.

  • I'm just curious...how long did you use the Rogaine? I'm thinking I'll get me some. My hair is very thin and continuing to do so.. I'm 5 months post op.

  • i think you look much, much better!!!! i actully thought that your face was very thin, and even your coloriing is better. you prob weren't getting what you needed. you are such a huge inspiration for me......... i watched all of your videos before my surgery, and they have really helped me throughout my journey thus far. thank you so much for being so honest!!!! :-)

  • WOW.... i dont know what to say.... Im glad your on the mend and finding your way again... i cant even begin to think of how you felt when this was going on.... AS for the people that r bashing you let them keep talking as you are worth so much more.. all the best hun. xxx Z

  • g'day from tropical north queensland Australia. I have watched all your vids from begining to end in the last few weeks and wow, thanks for sharing honestly a part of your self. I am a pre-op and things are VERY different here in the way you have to go about getting any type of bariatric surgery. mine is coming up on 26 May and the drama and logisitics are so huge I think I may have to start my own VLog. cheers khandi

  • Thanks for posting. Boy, you've been through a lot!!!

Don't you hate it when people say stuff like that? People at work and in my church do that to me. I tell them, "I have a don't-ask-don't-tell policy". LOL. That drives me crazy. It's my family's favorite subject. You just keep going, girl, and keep up the vids.

  • Thank you for doing this video and being honest. I am so glad you are better now and doing well. How scary you almost died- I am sure there is a whole slew of things going on with you over that on so many levels. I hate when people state the obvious as well! Your videos are so helpful to alot of people out here, best wishes!

  • c'om you look really good you're such an inspiration.

  • Being healthy is much more important then being super skinny! You have been through alot, keep up the good work you are such a strong woman. I think you look better now then before. You did look sickly at your skinniest, now you are gorgeous and "normal".

  • I cannot even begin to explain the effect your videos have had on the weight loss community. Most of us have seen you, you inspired us, and you have kept us honest. You are missed. I hope you are doing well.

  • l0llllllll

  • Emilia---

Your WLS videos were the 1st ones I saw here on YT. You're an inspiration, truly you are. We need you back, you're missed.

    xoxoxoxo

    monica

  • Please don't stop posting because of negative people and their rude comments. I love watching you and your videos!

  • Thank you for sharing! I had WLS back in 2006 and dropped from 424 to 266. Last year I had a tummy tuck and breast reduction. This past weekend I had the surgery that took off the "elephant ears" from my hips and the hanging from around my bra strap under the arms. And I am loving your videos that are so true and well just thank you!

  • I haven't watched for a while, this is such a great wake up call for me to stay focused. Thanks so much for sharing! I can see myself slipping once and awhile and I don't want to get back into bad habits. I know the 165 lbs won't stay off of me without complete dedication.

  • i think you look great, i have missed your videos it's been a while and i miss you,, you have been a great inspiration to me, and i think you shouldn't listen to a bunch of idiots, thank god the doctors saved you and my goodness, you look GREAT, i am still fighting with my insurance i'm appealing my denial for a sleeve, but if i weighed what you weigh i would be deleriously happy, keep up the good work and screw the haters.

  • hun... ur not fat, and ur just fine... don't worry about it :) like i said ur pretty

  • Do you have to eat only vitamin rich foods since you are limited to how much you can eat? I have a condition that makes it hard to gain weight, so people comment how I'm too thin :(. You look nice, btw.

  • Hi Ameliam so I just subscribed to ur channel after watching almost 8 hours of ur videos. I honestly believe that u are such a beautiful and strong person in side and out. and shame on thise people who said all that crap about u. but keep up the good work and dont pay attention to those haters. I am starting to lose weight myself, I am 200 pounds and I am so unhealthy. but anyways I hope we can keep in touch and u keep making videos. take care

    xoxo Cindy

  • Hi Emilia, hope today finds you both in good health, and spirit. I have been following all your videos and, i support you 100 percent, you are in control.....By the way I think you look awsome, and thank you for all the support your videos and you have giving me...your friend 07011755

  • You look so hot either way. You do look a little stressed out here: get some more rest if you can my friend and fuck he haters. God bless and i love you friend!

  • Screw those ppl. I'v ebeen watching you for over a year and love your videos. But most of all this was I think the most correct and informative video. I am actually 9 years out from WLS and as I was watching this has funnel cake bites dipped in icing from burger king. I am practically a "normal" person again. I have to watch what I eat and go to the gym to maintain my weight(and still feel overweight). How can people be that way? I'd NEVER say that.. BTW-You look f'ing awesome!

  • One issue that keeps getting lost is that the focus need to be more about HEALTH but too many folks want to make it about weight only.

With this surgery it is NORMAL to go down and then regain some weight (often called bounce back weight).

I think an important message Amelia has conveyed, and hopefully is heard, is all about better and healthier eating habits. The focus on 20 lbs seems rather ridiculous to me.

Be happy, life your life and keep eating healthy!

  • Hi Amelia,

Just wanted to say I am getting ready to start the process of getting the surgery and I have been watching many of your videos and you look great!!! Don't listen to all the haters out there, just take care of yourself and be happy and confident. Thanks for all the updates and can't wait to hear more. Good luck and God bless.

  • Amelia, God bless you and your husband. I pray for you health and happiness.

  • i need more, its been a month, i need to know what's up with you, as i have said before, i think you look great, and to hell with anyone who doesn't see it, but i need more, thanks for sharing

  • Wow, I can't believe that people judged about a weight gain. I fee that most people that have this surgery are to be healthy. And you girlfriend have been through so much. You have my support and I enjoy your videos. Keep strong.

  • um, your really hot!

  • Amelia it will always be a battle of weight!! Its the same here. But as long as your at a healthy weight and your Happy thats all that counts.

But you will always be BEAUTIFUL. So dont worry about all the negative people writing to you.

  • I am one year out and stoped watching months ago. Today I see this and so am glad I did. You were one of the first vids I had seen and introduced me to this group. You inspired me and again with your honesty today you are helping me. I too can eat what ever now and it scares me. You are so right about the routines and patterns. thanks......

  • i think u look sooooo amazing!!!! u came so far don't even listen to the negative comments u look really great keep your head up and keep it up!!! Nazareina....:)

  • u look great!

  • Thanks for the honesty!! WLS is not a cure-all or end-all; there are struggles all the way around (before, during, and after)... mentally & physically... the BONUS is that you have a support system to BUILD you up & NOT bring you down... thanks for the continual posts and not listening the the bogus-blockheads... shine & shimmer...

  • I personally think you look better with your face filled out.

  • You are the first person that I found on You Tube. By watching your videos and others I was able to make an informed decision to have WLS. We will all have bumps in the road and we can choose to go over them or let them block our way. I am sorry that others feel they need to hurt people, I think you look great. No one can understand how it feels to come back from the trama you had. Not unless they have been there. All you can do is keep moving foreward.

  • You're such an inspiration. Thank goodness we're not alone and we have each other to encourage each other in our struggles.

  • i think you look GREAT, i was so glad when i found you and have really enjoyed your videos, you have been a font of information, screw all those idiots, you keep on doing what you need to for you and to hell with anyone who has a problem with that, keep up the good work, Jeani

  • You look terrific and good for you for addressing this head-on. You gave some really good advice for people like me still in the process.

It's funny that you said "I know. I have a mirror.." My M-I-L, who is heavy, was on me a lot about my weight, so I finally looked at her and said "Do you ever forget you're fat? Neither do I."

    Keep it up.

  • Ur Awesome!!!! Missed U sooooooooooooo.... Much! the people who were rude dont kow what it's like! Dont ever stop making videos. I always check to see if u put a new one on. In fact I look forward to all your updates. Most of the time ide watch a little bit of someones video then change it , but when i watch yours its so interesting I stop everything to watch the whole thing. Be encouraged! U ROCK!

  • Amelia.... first of all I LOVE what you have done and what you do so thank you. The day you were making this video I was in the operating room for my gbs. My husband is 3 years out from his... and I was judging him on his choices,, i feel horrible. Sometimes people just don't understand focus on the positive. Remember for every negative comment you have, you have 10,000 atta boys out here even if we don't comment. You are doing great. Stay strong. ~ Taunya

  • so glad to see you looking healthy, when your hair started thinning I found the gastric surgery unacceptable , i know what its like to have a food addiction. I think you look happy, healthy and ready to move on, you are still an inspiration , even more so given the trauma you have endured x

  • Don't you love how they think because we make videos, you're to be a role model? Did we take that position and not know it?

It's real life! This is what happens to some people! We just log down our experiences and move on.

People who judge need to look at their own lives before talking about others. Are they bold enough to admit their faults & mistakes?

Anyway... *off the soap box...* ;)

You look great. I just did a video too...I gained also, but we're gonna get there! ^'5 ~Watty~

  • Hi Amelia, i can't tell you how much i love your videos'. I first heard about you from Mark he was talking about how much your videos helped him,, well you have certainly been an inspiration to me, hoping for a sleeve, waiting for my approval, wish me luck, good job you look GREAT, :o)

  • Glad you're back here on YT! We all need you voice, spirit, insight and inspiration.

I have not forgotten you journey ... IT after all gave me the information and inspiration I needed t save my own life and for that I will be forever grateful. Thank you.

  • you look great, you actually look very healthy

  • I think you look great. You decide what your ideal weight is, I was in the military and I hated for them to tell me what they thought my weight should have been when I was happy at another weight. Keep on going, I love watching your videos, you rock!!

  • add Biotin to your vitamin list. It works wonder for your hair and nails. i love how clean your house it .. . that's all i think wwhen i watch you. Rock on!

  • Great video. You look marvelous! And am so glad your health has returned! Hope school is going well for you. Thanks for sharing...and yes those who focus on the negative need to be blocked... that's not what this community or our lives should ever be about.

  • i think you are amazing, you look great and are truly an inspiration to me. i love watching you videos of your journey and i say to hell with anyone with any negative comments, life is a journey and there are good days and bad days, we keep on our path, and i thank God you were on the path before me. i'm waiting to hear if i will be approved for the sleeve. Keep a good thought for me, :o)

  • I just wanted to say that I've been watching you for a long time here on youtube and I think you are amazing. You have accomplished so much and with the pressures of school and health to juggle. Please know that so many of us are out here not only thankful for your insight and sharing but who also look up to you for all you've done. I'm having WLS in about a month. I've learned much from you and I hope to be able to apply that knowledge soon enough and 'pay it forward' if I can.

  • I am 18 mo out & still not quite where I want to be, but very close . It is important for others to remember that just because we've had WLS, our struggles aren't over. We still have to work hard at it, ESPECIALLY after we've reached our goals...not to mention the fact complications can arise at ANY stage after. And then there's the "see, I told you so" ppl...those that are just WAITING and HOPING for our failure. That's why support groups and videos like yours are so needed and welcome.

  • Amelia, I know that I find a lot of terrific advice in your videos. We are here to support each other not condemn each other. We had enough mean comments in our lifetime. Please not that I pray for your health constantly.

    Linda

  • I have just started looking at WLS Vlogs and I can't believe that people are commenting on your weight. I looked at your first post (waiting for insurance approval) and your current post. Wow, you have come so far and you look so healthy, despite what you have been through. I hope to look as good as you when I"m done. You are right about short memories. Be proud!! Us newbies are inspired by people like you.

  • You look fantastic! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I have no doubt you'll be at your goal again soon.

  • you having to eat all the time to keep weight on reminds me of the stephen king novel thinner. where he eats continually in attempts to not lose weight. I think you look great, honestly when youre alot thinner then this i find that your under eyes look very dark and your skin looks sallow... you look healthy and you know that you;ll get to your happy weight.. so screw anyone who has anything negative to say. ive been watching you since i started and youre an inspiration at any weight. - Becca

  • so true.. thanks!

  • @massagegoddess I agree you look fabulous!!!!

  • Amelia, Thank God your alive!!! I am three weeks out post op. You have always been an inspiration to me and alot of others Im sure. There is so much more to you then the number on the scale. Dont let the few assholes bring you down. Stay strong, Keep the faith. Many hugs, Cris

Have already said I will allow myself 4 pounds gain, any more than that I cut down, so far s good. Keep up te amazing work, u are sooo beautiful, love to joel, sheila xxxxxxxx

  • U are an inspiration to me and many others. This wl journey is for you and you are getting better. Thanks for sharing some very personal struggles. That takes a lot of guts

    hugs to you

  • You went on this journey-wls and weight loss- for you. And you were gracious enough to share that journey with us. Thank you. Can't believe anyone would criticize. You have been & continue to be an inspiration to me.

so please don't let people's negative comments discourage you. A lot of people have seen this video blog- and tune in because they admire your honesty and that you are a real person (like the rest of us) and at times you struggle.

  • Amelia, you still look wonderful and don't let those "people" talk shite about you or your weight loss or gain for that matter, you have been through SO much since your surgery, almost dying and all and everyone should be proud of the things you have survived! Keep your head up girl!

  • Amelia you amaze me girl! You have been through so much and we are praising the Lord that your life was spared too! I so understand the starving yourself and forcing yourself to eat constantly and how you can go to far. I had lost down to 138 lbs and am 5' 8". That is way to small for me and I looked and felt sick! The Dr's told me I HAD to eat, so I did the same thing you did and now am at 142 lbs BUT feel hungry now an am TRYING to figure out how to eat RIGHT! Thank you for this video!Hugs Kim

  • Hi Amelia!! Don't know if you remember me but, anyways... I'm sorry you had to go thru all of this... =( God bless you!!! *hugs*

Ummm, is Peterson's Hernia common for us ppl who've had Gastric Bypass???

  • Hi! I think you are great, you inspire people and we all love you and support you on your way. Do not be offended by other people comments Amelia. This The Internet, it is easier for people to be mean and judge if they are anonymous...

BTW I wish you success and happiness in 2010!

It has been almost 4 months since my surgery and i am at the stage of loosing hair. Which makes me very sad cause it is one of my best features. But when i look at you I belive everything will be back to normal! Thanks

  • People are just rude, just ignore them and carry on. You are an inspiration as always. You Rock!!!! Good Luck, Sue

  • YOU GO GIRL!!!!

  • Good to see you back. you crack me up when you say "sorry dad". you look really good, now go DO YOUR HOMEWORK.. hehehe hugs, Rosie

  • good luck, just remember people talk even when you do good, the people who care love you for sharing your inner self, I will be having surgery on 2/9, you are my inspiration, thank you

  • You look a lot better than you did a while back, I noticed you looked gaunt and your hair was thinner then. Ignore the negative comments, you will get there. I am currently waiting on the public health in australia for lapband surgery and slowly trying to lose weight "the natural way". Ive come to a peace with myself now that Ive never had, the fact is I know that surgery is only a tool and sometimes things don't work out as you want. You are doing well in my opinion

  • I am so glad to hear that you're blocking the negative comments. I sincerely hope that the people leaving those comments weren't WLS people because they should know that everybody has what my surgeon calls a rebound. You get to goal but gain up to 20% back and it's completely normal. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

The blunt honesty with which you make your videos has supplied thousands of people like me with NTK info. Thanks for being a true inspiration!

  • Hi Amelia, I am 3 weeks post RNY and, over the past 3 months, have watched all your videos. Your honesty and courage to take us through your journey has been an inspiration. You look great and I was happy to hear you are going to block the negative comments. You don't need to hear that and we don't want to read it! Thank you for sharing your story with us.

  • Man, "EFF" the haters! U dont need them! You've been through hell and back. You look great! Keep up the great work! :o)

  • Thanks for putting it out there I know we are not the only post op's out there struggling! We will overcome :-) best wishes with school!!

  • You're an inspiration. Thank you for being you.

  • Hey girl, you look alot better now. Don't listen to them you look great.
