the macbook is NEW with a pro. at 2.6 GHz & 2 gb of ram. Now the inspiron is a few years old machine {wich in thouse days is like a century} with 1-7 pro. & 1gb of ram...... obviously the mac will be very more fast!!!

pc's are not gay. first of all, a computer cant be attracted to another computer of the same sex. retard. now im not gunna diss macs, they are pretty cool. but think 2 gigs of ram and 160 gig harddrive for over $1000. a dell inspiron 1545 has 4 gigs of ram and 250 gigs of harddrive for more than half the price ($500).... macs are cool, but dells obtain better value and if you pick the right pc (like this dell i mentioned) youll get your moneys worth without breaking the bank.

All macbooks nowadays (pro or not) shutdown more or less at this speed. I have a white one, fully loaded and it stills shutdown at the same speed it used to when it was brand new. Just the booting is a little slower.

What?? Windows Vista sucked, and microsoft know it. Windows 7 is the best. Mac OS X.. is kinda bad.. sorta.. Mac's are only fast because they have better specs. Plus, Mac OS X is a lighter OS, so there is less shit to load than Vista. Plus, as you just saw in the test results, Windows Vista under Boot Camp Shuts down faster. Mac only sucks because Apple Has a lot of hidden things in it, and the system is. Apple doesnt want users understanding how exactly a Mac works.

Do you have Windows 7 ? I have it and i have had no problem with. Unlike Vista where i got a BSOD the first time i used it. Plus, the big ass Kernels in vista made bootup and shut down take forever. Microsoft knows Vista is shitty, and they dont wanna make upates to make it better. instead they made Windows 7. its way better than Vista. Now, with OS X, i find Snow Leopard to be stupid if you arent disabled. Apple Only added features that help the blind access their mac.

Mac is not a bad OS, but Apple is too limited. they dont want you understanding what all of OS X's core files are used for. I like OS X Leopard, but not Snow Leopard. OS X Runs nice on a PC though, so Apple does a nice job with Macs. Fuck Vista and Fuck Snow Leopard. Windows 7 and Leopard are the Best operating Systems ever.

Again, this isn't a fair test...

1. Completely different specs, the Mac has more RAM, a faster processor and a faster HDD, you need 2 identical machines to make it fair.

2. The PC has had more use and has more files to deal with than the Mac, I imagine there's alot of saved documents and such on the PC

@TheComputerDevil they both have 5400 rpm drives, which is really the main thing when it comes to bootup. when shutting down, the ram is more important because it has to dump all the files that were being stored on it. the mac has a gig more of ram, which isnt much.
