My best dog-friend was a black chow chow who after 14 years crossed the rainbow bridge. When I find another one, I will share my life with it as this breed has totally won my heart. Loyal,sweet, and inscrutable - he didn't bark unless he really meant it or telling me someone knocked on "his" door. He was also great company on road trips. Thanks for the video of those beautiful dogs.

I owned a black chow and he was the greatest. The are fine with children and other animals as long as they have been very well socialized. When our chow was 7 we brought a new pup home and he decided it was up to him to teach her and watch over her, as he got older the roles reversed and she watched over him. Unfortunately our chow passed away at the age of 12, but I would not hesitate to get another one, they are fantastic dogs.

I have a chow and I feel that they are best with adults. However, if you are around children and they see that you are OK with them then they love them too. Our dog has never bitten anyone. But she does let people know that she wants to protect her property and her people.. She is a real love

If they are not brought up around kids or other animals from puppyhood on up I suppose they would be aggressive. I own two purebred chows and they are totally cool around kids, even toddlers, because they were socialized around kids from day one. My chows are cool when at the pet store with other dogs, it's the cats they don't care much for!

ive grew up with chows, they are great with kids but need quiet time and they prefer to come to you for affection rather than the other way round.you have to learn thier body language like any other dog.

the chow chow is the best lookin dog in the world the book on chows says you wont find a cuter puppy then the chow chow!! i have a chow very protective and can be very mean when she senses danger and yes they are aggressive excellent guard dog quiet but dangerous,they only bark when nessessary, my other chow died in nov 06 my new chow is 1 year old stranger came in my yard and she was ready to attack i guess she thought i was in danger. 5 stars on the video added it to my favs

@harmoney3333 I had a brother and sister for 8 years and they were a handful.The most stubborn dogs I have ever worked with! But I loved them to death. Gotta see about finding a new male puppy to take the place of what I had. The ones I got were taken from other people who did not realize what they were letting themselves in for! So needless to say they were slightly pre programmed and it took a lot of persistent care to get them toned down to something that could interact with society!

chow chows r the most non agressive dogs ever, they have the most friendly personality, theyre great with kids aswell. my chow chow sadly died on christmas eve and i miss her terribly everyday, if ur looking into getting a show, i strongly recommend them, they r loyal and excellent guard dogs (sometimes haha) just beware, thye r a high maintenance dog and require ALOT of brushing during malting seasons

Anyone thinking of getting one of these dogs better watch a good dose of the Dog Whisperer! These dogs are cute when they're puppies and they are extremely well behaved, BUT they grow up to be powerful dogs with a stubborn and independant personality. They can walk all over you if you let them and trust me......you do not want that!!! This is not a breed for "weak" dog owners.
