@friend2animals66 This was not the best idea, but I had good intentions. Caulking is a great idea! If I were to do this again, I would do it much differently... not sure what tho. I use the trash can now as a trash can and not a tumbler. In response to previous comments, it's actually not as flimsy as it looks... but it definately can be better! Ideas and constructive ideas are always welcome. GAiL
LOOKS LIKE A FLIMSY SETUP, AS SOON AS YOU GET IT FULL ITS GONNA FALL OVER, TOO WEAK, SHE SHOULD LEARN MORE BEFORE MAKING A DUMB VIDEO, AND PRETENDING TO BE A STAR ON A SAD SHOW, HA HA
At least she has the "balls" to make a video. Who cares if she makes a mistake or does something wrong you live, learn and make mistakes.
She'll learn as she journey's through life, and you'll still be behind your keyboard eating hot pockets, wasting oxygen and burdening others with your hate.
@pondplantgirl thanks for making this video I've enjoyed a few of your gardening videos and getting ideas for my own future plants.
@GORT192 I'm sure we can all look forward to your far superior design & video soon, right??? (NOT!)
More folks will have learned from watching her with her willingness to show the bloopers & remember how to do it than all of what you are likely to contribute to the sum total of human knowledge...
Artichokes in Visalia zone 9 are easy to grow during the wintertime. They actually thrive in the cooler weather. When the temps start to get down there in Jan and Feb, you can let it go completely dormant or cover the plant with a clear plastic tarp to protect it from frost bite. If it goes dormant it will grow a new plant in the warm spring weather :-)
It is good to see you back, and teaching about composting.
I have a concrete slab as most of my garden, so composting is very important as most of what I grow (or last year didn't; really bad weather) is in bins. last years compost mixed with soil will be this years growing medium. and the soil in last years bins will still be full of nutrition and ready to spring fourth new life!
Be poor, be debt free and libe happy

Ps. Check out my scooter videos to see how far off spring is here.
Your on the right track however the design is micky mouse meaning comical.
People who are serious about making a home made compost tumbler wouldn't have to search too far to find a good design.
Mind you I'm surprised the the person putting up this didn't do her research either. Anyway good luck with all and happy gardening.

Thank you for sharing this. I bet caulking would work just as well as the expensive glue... just a thought!

I bought some artichoke from you (I live in Visalia), and what do I need to do to protect them over the winter? Will they die in the freezes?
