  • lol i thought that my W123 300D was wits rust when i got it :D ...year 82, btw first car too :D

  • @AldaryLV hehe yeah, great first cars! ;) in 2013 mines free of taxes and will be dead cheap! ;)

  • @coolakiIlen007

..grrr what country you are living in?

i must pay about 100LS (~200$) each year for the road taxes only) and insurance costs same for 1 year... :(

they say it because, they think its an old car and i will drive any with it and crash soon lol... stupid idiot country :D

  • @AldaryLV I live in Sweden ;)

well, i drive mine as a van (truck registered) where you take out rear seat and put in a loading net, you can see in this vid, anyway that makes the taxes half as expensive and now i pay 2800 swedish crowns / ~ 400$ a year. full registered 5800 swedish crowns / 800$ so its not cheap to drive diesel here for same reason people think they are bad for the environment but its the other way! but im glad in just over a year i can put in my rear seat again.. ;)

  • Man, this little creaming on the fenders and these very rough rottens under the car need a serious repair with welder, grinder, and full cavity and under carriage protection. But first clean down the cassys to pure metal.

U just waste the money if U paint over the inefficiently repaired rust.

BTW U have cute sister! :D

  • @gergely007 yeah the primer is for to hide the biggest rust spots untill i repaint it. we have done the most fatal fixes as the big holes in the rear fender springs etc. in the summer we might go onto the facial..

  • Great video. Awesome to see someone keeping another w123 alive. They will live for ever if you take care of them. 240d best most reliable car ever made.

  • @hcexplorer78 yes i agree! it it indeed one of the absolutely best cars ever made! it was a shame leaving it sitting on a field, so i bought it. :) the previous owner also had a -84 300D sitting in a barn for the last year.. it was in better condition but wanted much money for it.. ive videos of firing up my grandpas -88 w124 230E too also been sitting 3 years. :)

  • Nice Video! ...my 300d was also in this condition - i needed 4,5 Years to rebuilt. The W123 was - no, IS the Best car ever built !!!

  • @pdlbenz300 wow, 4,5 years.. you must have made it mint! :) i got a little help from my grandpa and in a week we had done the work needed to get it qualified at the inspection! then just been welding and grinding the body and hopefully sonn repaint it. im 17 so my budget is running out fast! but im practice driving in it and its the best runner/cruiser! after first refuel it did 8L / 100km, not bad for the age :) hope you still have your w123, and thanks for watching and commenting. :)

  • BRILLIANT WORK - keep at it mate!

I'm sure that I don't need to tell you, but W123's were the greatest car of the last Century and it's terrible to see them neglected. That said, to see one being restored so well has made my Weekend!

keep up the good work fella - and you will have a car for life.

Check out mine if you want at:

If you check out my home page there is a link to a website that has a number of W123 owners cars on it - you may want to add yours.

  • @EssexBoy696969 err u telling me mines isnt restored?better than this?wow u hurt my feelings .

  • @EssexBoy696969 thank you! it is indeed one of the absolutely best cars ever made! ive got a w124 aswell, owned by my grandpa at the moment but has been sitting 3 years just like this w123 :) both works great! the previous owner of the w123 also had a -84 300D sitting in a barn for about a year, bet it would fire up and drive as good as my 240D! :) greetings i will check it out!
