  • what is most striking to me is how an actor who can know nothing about high level math and science (i don't say i know any better either), but can still manage to make people believe that he is the eistein of his domain

  • id like to divide her roots and multiply

  • I'm a bit late to the party, but math and music are the only universal languages we comprehend, universally, without interpretation. Of the two, math cannot be interpreted any way except what it is, unless you're a philosopher. In that case, the laws of nature do not apply.

  • @wetalmorker music would be a child of math, you see each note of music in a single song can be all represented by math and patterns of numbers are in music, ever hear a song that you like? of course you have, you like i because the golden ration is in that song, the ratio of notes to the prevoius is the ratio

  • Such a good scene!

  • Mathematics is the alphabet in which god wrote the universe. -Galileo

  • Isn't math just an abstraction we use to discretize, simplify, and approximate nature? Are you willing to say that math is more perfect than nature? Is nature inspired by and founded on math or is math inspired by and founded on nature? Would a concept like Phi even exist apart from nature? If it could exist apart from nature, would it have any relevance to anything or any meaning apart from nature?

  • lol too hard for my little brain ^^

  • After reading your paragraph, I do think you've a point. To raise a good question, however. Math and Nature, are quite the same, as they are separate. I believe Charlie is referring to Nature, as in, the way we perceive things. It's our nature, to understand that all things connect. So in a sense, Charlie is making sense. However, Math and Nature Co-exist, unlike anything to the sort of Science Vs. Religion. We all know that Science will always win, because of Physical proof.

  • Yes but ... I believe the Universe is infinitely small and infinitely large, just look at how they keep finding new subatomic particles, its almost devastating, thinking of this, I wonder what defines mathematics?

  • these are simply values that the mind can associate with to understand the balance of nature in a state of constant change. Because change is the only universal constant and not value.

  • Word. Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • it is finding the best possible solution for everything, the highest efficiency.

  • What movie is this from?

  • its not from a movie, its from a tv show called "Numb3rs"

  • math is nature's language... i like that.

  • there's much more to it! but he has the passion pretty much correct.

  • Phi-ntastic

  • Actually I found this well done--good job guys!

  • fiuuuuu!!!chafa!!

  • what happens when you mix a nerd with a bag of pot

  • You get a Carl Sagan book ?
