When I do this what happens is the z transitions immediately to roach, sets up spines, and blocks pathway into main with queens/roaches too - making the hellions useless.

what can i do?

@sabuser2 that's the huge problem with this build, you want them to think a very specific thing - that you've only got a small amount of hellions for map control and he doesn't need to worry. but these kinds of mindgames only really take place in high leagues and pro games. a lot of zerg players will automatically transition roach if they see helions especially on ladder and in lower leagues,

So... If you were the Zerg... How would you scout this? I really think Terrans are getting scary. There are so many strategies they can do against Zerg that even if you see what they are doing at one time you cannot predict what is coming at you. For example you scout a factory with reactor. The Terran can easily switch some other building onto the reactor and go heavy mech with the factory while the Zerg prepares for the never coming hellions.

@demonhunter0682 Well let it be hellions or mech heavy the solution still calls for a strong force of roaches. I agree that ZvT is hard as me playing a zerg I have more of an issue of 5-6 SCVs and 2 rax push into my base with bunkers going down...

@demonhunter0682 I play mech.. and whenever a smart zerg scouts a reactor'd factory the first thing they do is get a roach warren. The most important thing is keeping your drones.. so whatever that takes. A lot of zerg's are greedy and try to hold this off with just lings. You have to sac an overlord around the 7 min mark to check again for things like banshees or a tech switch.. but getting an early roach warren and 3-4 roaches does not send you that far behind.

force, wouldnt it be more efficient to swap the fac with a techlab after building 4 hellions and get the blue flame upgrade with a starport for a medivac to increase the mobility of the hellions?

thats how i do it and it works very well, especialy if ur going mech later on

The problem is that zergs are the adaptive race and they can't have timing pushes. They can do some banking busts or hydra pushes/ nydus pushes but in rest, they must overwhelm and macro over the opponent.

I'd like to see some 2v2 strats. Especially to counter the cheese/fast rushes that bronze/silver players do. It really takes the fun out of the game when all you see is Muta cloud, mass marines, or mass stalker pushes. Otherwise good video, always enjoy these.

Terrible spine placement, terrible creep spread, terrible scouting, and not enough queens. The standard sacrificial overlord at 5 scouts this, and, on this map, 2 well-placed spines and 4 queens just destroy this hellion push. Other maps might need 3 or 4 spine crawlers.

@ObservableFiction If you have 3-4 roaches holding your ramp and mineral walk your drones from your natural to your main before the hellions get there the hellions will not get passed the ramp. Allowing you to make more roaches if you see this many hellions. The proper response to a reactor'd factory is a roach warren with 3-4 roaches. Make more if needed.. if not drone up and scout with an overlord to check for tech switch. Not that difficult really..
