when you are racing, and you open up your inside, other racers will take it. And when they take your inside, you can't just shut the door on them. You have to give them the racing room, so both can make the corner safely. If you don't want the car behind to take your inside, defend your position.
@superkorridor The gear ratio's will be longer in VLN as the longest straight at Nurburgring is huge in comparison to Sugo's. This is also why they change down quicker under braking as again, the ratio's are much closer. Hope this helps.
It was Kogure's fault since he didn't pass him by the half of the car. He just flied in the corner from the inside, right in that other nsx's racing line.
look at his left wrist on hard left turns, he is putting so much strain on it ( he should use an insert on his seat to improve it, most likely like that because the other driver is taller
That NSX sounds great! Almost like one of my personal favorite racing cars, the Ferrari 333SP. SWEET engine music! I LOVE it! Too bad the guy wiped out during the course of the video. Otherwise, that would have been a flying lap.
did the raybrig nsx crash into the barriers. But that sucks for Kogure Because he was minding his own business but the raybrig acura just pulled into his line
wow i think its so funny how everyone thinks they know everything about everything on youtube and if someone disagrees they go nuts and say negative things about the person...LOL
He probably broke the front suspension or steering rack with that impact. If the tire failed, the carcass would have shredded against the car. If the tire stayed in tact without shredding, the result would cause the car to drag on the front or with rear tire failure, pick the front corner off the ground.
Jeremie Dufour in the Kunimitsu NSX, on his opening lap of his stint having left the pits.
Kunimitsu NSX was leading with Sebastien Philippe driving the opening stint, up until its pitstop.
There are no tyre warmers in SUPER GT, Michigami just needed to show some patience to get by easily, clearly see how quickly he caught Dufour on cold tyres.
Resulting collision means DNF for both.
And to think they set 2nd and 3rd fastest lap in the race.
Actually on checking the helmet colours, the driver is infact Takashi Kogure who makes contact with Jermie Dufour in the Kunimitsu NSX. Not his teammate Ryo Michigami as titled. I stand corrected.
man the honda f1 steering wheels actually interact with the driver, this is nothing. But the takata dome is my fav supersport ryo michigami is the best
OK guys, in racing if you are clean enough not to contact the ass of your opponents car you should maintain your pace then try to overtake your opponent to the inside or outside of the corner or at straights.
Well I agree, but in this case that isn't quite blocking, when the other opponent has his nose already PAST your rear end, if you move over to block, you will contact him and one of you will spin out. That's cutting off. :P
I agree/disagree. The Takata NSX made a late attempt. He wasn't in the peripheral of the Raybrig or Epson NSX before turn-in. The blue/white NSX was turning in while the Takata stuck it's nose in and made contact. But then again, the blue/white NSX had to be aware of the Takata NSX and shouldn't have closed the door on him like that, should've gone wheel to wheel through the corner.
As Randy Pobst says, if you can see it, don't hit it. If you're side by side, leave a car-width-and-an-inch. :)

from another vid it showed the car lost its entire rear sub frame, that would explain the handling after the impact*

When slick tires gets hot and slip into dirt or grass, those will get caught on the tires and it will become slippery...

Do you remember the title of the video that showed Kogure's demise at Super GT's Round 4 at Sugo?

The resulting collision saw Jeremie Dufour in the Kunimitsu NSX retire on Lap 38.
Takashi Kogure in the Dome NSX retired on lap 40.
And to think they set 2nd and 3rd fastest lap in the race.

Raybrig is the title sponsor of the Team Kunimitsu NSX.
One of four Honda NSX effort in SUPER GT 2005.
The driver is Jeremie Dufour, who shared driving duties with Sebastien Philippe in 2005.
