I'm not exactly sure but it was a smoke butt, the place storing the propane wasn't keeping it in good condition this was the result of their carelessness, I remember going out with friend there was a big thunderstorm 2 nights before so I thought it was just thunder when I heard the first bang I walked back in to get an umbrella from my room and I could see fire in the distance from my window and I live all the way in highpark!!

I was fully awake and lived near that area. The sky was at first burning red to afraid to go out and when I saw the explosion the windows of my was shaking alot. If i lived closer my windows would had been broken. After that, the sky was greyish red and my grandmother thout we were at hell. Later on i figured out it was propane explosion. I was working about 2-3 blocks away from the propane facility that summer. The explosion knocked boxes off of shelves, lighting fixtures and ceiling tiles off the roofs, and broke windows and such. While driving to work the next day, I saw many houses with broken windows, and hanging gutters, etc. The explosion was very loud, I heard it while I was at home, but I would have never guessed what actually happened, until I saw it on the news.
