Sakic was them main reason I became and stayed an Avs fan even after I moved to Oregon. I have more avalanche gear and swag than any other team I follow. Seeing Joe choke up during this speech reminds me why I love to watch this game and the players who live it.

Joe Sakic was a phenom. Exceptional hockey player.....grace, puck handling ability, you could never tell when he was going to really let it go! The grace and sportsmanship he showed on the ice was indictative of what type of guy he is. He's pure class and a player that every young hockey player should look too. Hall of Fame easy.....you will be missed Joe from a Penguins fan!

I had the honor of meeting Joe Sakic in '04, when he came into the doctor's office where I was working, 3 months after he bought a house in San Clemente, Ca., which my father had the honor of inspecting. I told him that I was one of his biggest fans & that I've liked him since the Avs were the Nordiques. I'll miss him, so much and I hope he makes the Hall Of Fame 'cause he deserves it!
