the original dirk was outstanding. saw them a few times in london in the late 70s...before he brought in perroni and turned into a cartoon character. they used to be brilliant. everything after the first lp is just embarrassing.

@dingram3 he got with marco cos mclaren nicked the others for bowwowwow and adam himself has never been ashamed to say he wanted to be popular. he has always been in control of who 'adam' was and how he was presented. ok, you prefer the 'dirk' antz, but even then he was in character. however popular the ants became, it was adam's vision, he did what he wanted to do and followed no-one, hence he and the band changed.

The makeup is a mess, the costume is so-so, the dancing is ridiculous, he looks like he's about to lose interest, he fails to mime into the microphone a lot of the time. He had a lot to learn about performing and being a pop star. But the good bits outweigh a few flaws; five stars!

This clip is like the holy grail to ant fans! I had to buy 3 copies of Dirk Wears White Sox cos I wore the buggers out, my mate did the music for my wedding a couple of years ago, he knew I loved Cartrouble/Zerox and he put them on back to back! Have you ever seen a 42 year old pissed ant fan freaking out to these classics on his wedding night!! The wife's jaw was hitting the floor!!! But I was in a world of my own!! Magic Antmusic......
