Subarus own the beaches. Only problem is clearance. But 2 or 3inch of lift makes all th difference. Thats what I have done for my Forester.

no offence but no clearance. The brumbys were great cause they had decent clearance, but the new outbacks and foresters have shit all! Get a lift.

I agree with grommo it's pretty hard to bog a Subaru on the beach,
I have seen a liberty towing a camper trailer on the soft sand it didn't get bogged.
Looks like they waited for the tide to come in before using the maxtrax

Buy a landcruiser and keep your outback off ALL gazetted roads you dropkick!
vzuterus 3 years ago
Nah, any outback should have no problem on a flat beach even with ruts and slushy sand, let alone driving up dry sand dunes.
You can bet this was staged or anyone who bogs in these sort of sand conditions has high tyre road pressures rather than 18psi or lower.
I've had to use my outback to help unbog and tow out an idiot with a stuck hired landcruiser on Morton Island QLD.
Keep unskilled and ignorant idiots off ungazetted roads, not subarus.

did you see how deep the sand was? you could get stuck there in anything unless you had big off road tires.

its an ad for a good piece of equipment, needed for all sorts of allroad vehicles. Even a Jeep could use that MAXTRAX.

as if anyone would be stupid enough to drive a subura outback coming up to high in sand that soft
jonrjer 4 years ago
Why?. Subarus can go better in sand than many heavy 4x4s.
Check this vid of an outback effortlessly climbing a dune whilst other idiots struggle with high tyre pressures.
