What!?!?!? When they're soooooooooooo close to getting that guy's knee ruled "DOWN" and getting the outcome of that game changed after nearly THREE DECADES?!?!!?! They can't stop NOW!!!!!! They might look stupid if they "get over it" now!!!!!
Those poor officials. I wonder if they let them live afterward.
Do a search on 'Cal-Stanford "The Play to beat the Band"' and watch that 1:33 video. It CLEARLY shows that Garner's knee was down BEFORE he pitched the ball and that the last lateral was forward as the ball leaves the player's hands at the 28-yard line and Rodgers catches it at the 26-yard line. That is an ILLEGAL forward pass. The facts are that Garner's knee was down before pitching the ball and there was a forward lateral. cal lost the game. Check it out for yourself.

No way. Garner was *almost* down but the video clearly shows the ball was out of his hands before his kneee hit. Kevin Moen himself said his knee was at least a good quarter inch above. Also later in the play Moen had to grab the ball as it was going behind him. It only looks like a forward lateral because of his feet position.
Besides Stanford was totally violating the rules by interference with too many men on the field.
What a douche bag
