  • I have always called them changers.

  • @getplaning And I always called them gears

  • THANX FOR CONFUSING THE FUCK OUTTA ME

  • "Deraill-ier"? Nice pronunciation loser. Now say zoologist ...bet it's as bad a Bush's 'nucular'

  • @skoockum He says it like many professionals. What do you say, "De-railer" like I've heard many others say? It's spelled the way this dude is saying it so I gotta assume he's right and you lost not him.

  • @froochie123 Well, if there's any authority on pronunciation, it certainly isn't mechanics ..it's the dictionary. And if you were to read it, you'd see that I won and you and the other doofus in the video lost before you started. Derailleur is a French word, and the nearest correct English pronunciation is dee-rail-er.

By my count, so far you've lost two.

  • @skoockum You don't know how to count but thats a different flame war. Look at what I said, I've seen it said both ways and side note... professionals aren't just bike wrenchers. Now you're saying it's a French word but we have to Anglicise it to make you happy, is that right?

  • @froochie123 Here's how you count to two. You said the pronunciation is right cuz a mechanic used it (you lose 1 time). Instead of finding out the real pronunciation before you disagree with me, you decide to argue about something that you know full well you know nothing about (you lose 1 time).

Now, add 1 to 1 and you will get 2 (well, only if your math is better than your english and logic)

But after your latest brain vomit you're down by a bare minimum of 5

    Care to make it 9?

  • @skoockum call it whatever you want sparky.

  • @froochie123 Math too tough then? ..That's ok, you can always go back to special ed

  • best tutorial so far, and man that one beautiful bike

  • Super helpful!

  • how am i supposed to set my high limit if im not even able to shift to the highest chainring?

  • no offense but your mustache looks like iron mans face mask unclosed

  • i have a problem

i have a limited by progear bike with shimano sora derailers

no matter which way i turn the low limit and high limit i get no change

  • @HOCKY4LIFE33 Loosen the cable.

  • Thanks for the video - very helpful. I think my problem before was that when adjusting my braze-on derailleur I was snugging down the band on the outer cage plate without using the anchor bolt to position the C-tube and the braze-on mount on the band clamp relative to the teeth on the chain ring, but this video clarified everything.

  • This is the best demo i have seen on front derailleur adjustment - specifically it points out how to adjust tension cable with your fingers - not like i did - with a pair of pliers and made it all too tight(and mangled the end of the cable).

  • carl you are an idiot

  • I think that tattoo on his wrist at 3:02 is from the lesser keys of solomon which is Demon worship.not 100% sure but he also has a wing dragon which for some represents satan, hense the creepy side burns...not for sure though...All Praise to Jesus Christ....

  • @carlmcdonald777 - that tattoo is a representation of the Fibonacci sequence. Nothing to do with devil worship. The dragon is heraldic, so not entirely sure it has anything to do with satan. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Thanks Todd, this was a great vid and had the info I was looking for.

    Hail Satan.

  • Nice chops, Todd ;)

  • Epic side burns Todd

  • Hi Todd, great video! The space height between the derailleur outer cage plate and the highest chainring teeth which you mentioned should be about 1 to 3mm, does this apply to both compact and triple chainrings or just the compact? I have a Tiagra triple but I noticed that my spacing is more than the 3mm you suggested, and my chain slightly rubs the cage plate when I'm in the biggest chainring/smallest cog combo. Will lowering the der. solve that? No shifting problems so far btw.

  • cheers Todd, very clear demonstration !

  • Ha he uses his fingers as a brake nice.
