I say we our a republic because we have a constitution that guarantees certain rights even if a majority of people disagree with those rights. I say we our a republic because we have a constitution that guarantees certain rights even if a majority of people disagree with those rights. For example you have a right to burn a flag even if most people think its wrong. Personally I don't care. But in a republic the majority doesn't always rule. In a pure democracy they do. Neither a democracy or republic require freedom to exist. I'm for animal rights, legal immigration (throw the illegals outta here), and freedom.

You can't have it both ways: use them to gain brownie points with the voters, but at the same time expect that their privacy will be respected. It's one or the other. it is important to pound home that kids should not have sex. it is difficult to get that point across when you are stuffing condoms in their pockets.

Palin doesn't "demand" abstinence, she believes it is the best policy for unmarried people. But whether her 17 yr old daughter follows her guidance doesn't necessarily reflect her ability to govern. Obama himself did drugs and alcohol in high school and called that mistake "his greatest failure" (his words)... maybe you should question "HIS" ability to lead if you're recommending judging Sarah Palin on her 17 yr old daughters actions. (But I would disagree with that personally).

Do you really want strangers teaching your children about sex? Do you know these teachers? Do you know their morals? It is a mistake to let government funded schools teach our children anything about sex. That is the job of parents, churches, and community organizations. Private teaching shows the BEST results.
