funnily enough penumbra overture (The first one) is quite more scary and took way longer to complete than penumbra black plague ( The second one) I finished number 2 in 3 hours but still quite fun, i recconmend geting all of them. Havnt tried requiem though?

The "Penumbra Tech Demo" was just a tech demo that was released before the Penumbra Series. It's not really a game.

@QualityRandom While Requiem had the same atmosphere as Black Plague, it wasn't "scary" in the same way as the previous two episodes. Requiem is much more puzzle-oriented, similar to games like Portal. If you've already played Overture and Black Plague, and you can find Requiem for ~$10 (it's usually bundled with the other episodes; Steam has a bundle for $10), I would highly recommend buying it. However, keep in mind it's not another Black Plague, there are no enemies in this one.

@QualityRandom (cont.) One more thing to consider is that Requiem is more of an epilogue, tying up a lot of loose ends in the Penumbra storyline. This (and the puzzle-oriented gameplay I previously mentioned) is why I liked Requiem. If this don't sound like something you're interested in, you might want to take a look at Amnesia: The Dark Descent, which was created by the same developers. I hope this helps.

in penumbra requiem (last part) you just go through diffrent very hard puzzles witch involve some "memorys" of red , other scientists that you encounter through the game. but the sounds are scary. In part 1 and 2 there are zombies , wild dogs , hive , rock works , spiders ,... still , best series ever

Its not the monsters (enemies) that make this game. It' the freaky atmosphere and that heavy breathing sht. I finished overature tonight (it was late too) and the ending gave me chills. The enemies were gay in the first one (attack dogs) and I was so bored of them i just cbf killing them and got God mode. ATMOSPHERE FTW

@KuLoT925 ditto. Best psych-horror games up to this point. I've taken some looks into Amnesia. There are some damn scary bits, but all the magic references and scenes "explain" too much. As opposed to penumbra, where the human brain is trying to use logic to explain whats going on, adding to thrills & chills.
