But he was captured by him and reprogramed to help Sub-Zero in fighting against Shao Khan and against the former evil powers that rule the Lin Kuei.  This all happens pretty much between MK3 and Deadly Alliance. Of course then he is found by Noob Saibot and made to serve him. Poor Smoke never gets a break.

I actually never liked smoke in MK3 because he was just a recycled character..Human was basically Scorpion with a pallette change and the cyborg form had Scorpion's harpoon with Sektor's teleport uppercut. Just thought he was a boring and uninspired character. His new versions for deception/armageddon are pretty cool though.

the nano-smoke was the robot smokes, um smoke. the ninja (my favorite) smokes was because of a dry-ice like effect, when they made smoke anyone could freeze like sub-zero if they did the proper ritual. as seen in mortal kombat konquest, the tv show. it also said that he saw the deathmatch between sub and scorpion and learned both of their moves perfectly. BTW he just throws his spear, doesnt do the hand monster spear thing. this all applies to the old mk2 smoke however.
