looks like a fuel leak. the fire's main area is right around the fuel line for the fuel rail. my cousin's gsr had that exact same problem, luckily we caught it soon after the leak started

@redrosecross Well no, they arnt the same engines. The modular V8 comes in alot of sizes, but closest to this would be the 281 4.6L, not 4.7L. And the 4.6L modular ford engine isnt that great... The engine in the early 00s SVT Cobra and the K CC8S are miles apart, decades apart in technology. While Ford does make good engines, they are no where near as technologically advanced as the CC8S was.

But when u talk about no beating cars from the 50's thats depending on the race style I personally Built my 88 ciivc for Road racing I Shipped a B16 SiRII to my house and dropped it in LSD tranny with Koni yellows and GC coils this car was perfect for hill climb and road racing but Still hung in a 1/4 I ran a 14.3 with a stock 1.6
