vitalij kuprij should have been the fastest keyboard player in the world because he is lightning quick and i dont know about jorden rudess yeah he is quick but it isn't as quick as what vitalij kuprij is, the only reason why he is elected is because he is in that famous band dream theatre or otherwise it would come out with different results i reckon! if it wasn't for the fame it would result differently to someone who isn't as well known.

But if you like this style, go and listen to Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater.. lol ... :) I dont like this guy because he feels he's Godlike, but many other people can do it!!

He has recorded Liszt trascendental etudes. You are right, this guy is great, but if you look up that video, there you have real technique

Talking about lack of creativity, sure he's fast, but he totally lacks creativity. And about his Classical pieces, im sure they're very good, as good as anybody can get with study and practice. That doesn't makes him Amazing. Lots and lots of Pianists can play Chopin studios and difficult pieces as well.

Hes just pling scales very fast, up and down, and extending some chord on arpeggios up and down. He's great on doing that Fast. That's all.

What I absolutley hate is that lead sound!! He has been using it since ever! Its so 80'ish! Its plain horrible.... Remove all the effect processing and you will find a thin weak expression less sound.

I seriously think this guy has no clue on how to program a synth. For me he is more busy shredding all the time than actually taking care about the sounds he produces....

Ok, what Im complaining about is the synth sound itself. Some people might like his shredding, others simply hate it as it lacks emotion. To be honest I havent heard his orchestral stuff, but I dont think it will change my opinion about his horrible sounding synth programming. It could simply be that he doesnt care much about how he sound and he just prefers to play and compose his stuff regardless of how he sound... thats the core of my comment. But I believe on the importance of good sound.

I agree with you in the way that it IS a very 80's thin sound and very boring, but if played like he does it cut's thru guitars and he made into his signature lead unlike other metal keyboardist who all clone or do a variation on Jens Johanson's lead. Besides Jordan Rudess and Derek Sherinian allready have the coolest sounds there can be for solo keyboards.

From a classical perspective, his technique is "eh." Incredible job keeping his wrists loose, though. I'm more impressed with what he wrote; maybe that's generic in the metal world, I dunno, but I couldn't ever come up with something like that.
