@valeriegalerie Yes I am sure that is his proper name, but, it may not be the same person you are thinking of.... in true tradition names are not taken, but given by your teacher, mine WAS Madhav Das and it was questioned by others, but that was what my teacher gave me and I never questioned it until I lived in Vrindavan and started questioning EVERYTHING about Hinduism.. but that was my journey and everyone has their own..

the conductor rose in ranks in the railway and eventually had a station built in Neem Karoli, the people loved Baba so much the called him Neem Karoli Baba and the name stuck... you should reall visit Vrindavan some time and visit Food For Life Vrindavan and see the schools they have built. I'l attach a slideshow of the children that are helped there.

as the story goes, as KD tells it, Baba was on a train but sitting in the wrong section, the conductor had the train stopped and Baba removed from the train. Baba sat under a tree and when the train tried to move out, it wouldn't move. The other Indians on the train told the conductor it was Baba holding the train back. The conductor spoke to Baba and Bubba agreed to let the train move on if the conductor promiced he would try to get a station built in the near by town of Neem Karoli,.
