4:10 That's the key element of Scientology: it never returns more than you pay in - in fact you're damn lucky to break even! And for the professional who gets sucked into Sciism through WISE it's a double whammy because they nail you with the bogus "office tech."
It's great that they try to prevent other people from making such mistakes by sharing their experiences.
And She seems to be very reasonable, but some of His statements are a little much. Don't slag me off now, but i think it's plain wrong to compare the SS to Scientology in that way. Himmler and Eicke both didn't have a PhD, and a lot of intellectuals and artists were hunted; it was flee(,join) or die. Furthermore the most intelligent people i've met weren't involved in any kind of religion.
@Melancholikerin It's funny in your last sentence you wrote, Because at first sight of scientology for me, told me that it was brainwashing, and about money.
The smartest people that I know, do believe in religion whole heartedly.
Of course, these are people who don't need a book or a teacher to teach them.
Most people link "intelligence" with "PHD", And that's not even close to the case. A PHD can be bought with time and money. True intelligence is already there and can't be purchased.
Glad he is out but I don't feel sorry for him, he blew through $125,000 on religion crap, I feel sorry for his wife and children if his actions affected their futures.
He's right - if was put into college and spent the money he did he would have ended up with 3 doctorates. Now he has a doctorate in L Ron's brain cum.
He's right - if was put into college and spent the money he did he would have ended up with 3 doctorates. Now he has a doctorate in L Ron's brain cum.
She seems to be a lot more reasonable than he is (sorry), but well maybe he will listen a bit more to her now. If he doesnt let her make the logical decisions for them both in the future, he will continue to make bad decisions, i hope he will understand that.
I think the free will is something so easily breakable for the scientologist's that it doesnt really mean that all that people who falls in their tricks and courses are stupid... they are just very trained thieves... and the funniest part is that they dont even know that what they are doing is just steal, freedom, money and lives... this is a smart weapon... and the richer keep getting richer... and the others... are just fucked... like any other scam... but this is evil they want it all...
This happens a lot in $cn. It's actually quite typical. $cn has a high turnover, like a McDonald's restaurant with their employees. But McDonald's employees don't pay the franchise thousands of dollars or hundreds of thousands of dollars. It's see you later...oh btw, you're declared an SP or PTS or whatever. $cn is a $cam!!!
I know as a buddhist I am constantly striving for enlightenment for me and for all sentient beings on earth, and I know it might take 80 years or may never happen, but the blessed thing about Buddhism even though you never finish learning about yourself and balance and truth and enlightment it also DOESNT COST YOU A PENNY!
No I didn't miss your intent at all. I will restate...try to get married, baptized or have a funeral with out paying. You can't. All religions charge for service. This is weather the experience was meaningful or not. Churches do charge for services. You might not have $ to pay the bill but someone is.
NO, you don't pay to get a baptized; the money for marriage doesn't go to the church it goes to the government. And funerals most of the funds go to the funeral home which is a secular service.
And the daily survives and the message is free. And that is the point the information is free, in Scientology the message isn't free you have to pay for it unlike every other true religion.
For a real religion all you need is a holy text(which you can usually get for free) and some time
You live in a fantasy world...but I guess it's alright as it's your fantasy. Sorry if I cut across that and tried to get you to look at the facts of life. Nothing is free.
True religions are about the message not making a profit unlike Scientology. Just as libraries about the literature and a bookstore is trying to make a profit.
Well......OK. I didn't know that was the point. I felt the point you were trying to make was that religion, to be a real, true religion should be totally free and things are not totally free. Religions do want and expect contributions from the members. Libraries are supported by the government. So our tax dollars put them there. Religion gets no such support so must rely on the members.
i really don't get having to pay for a religious experience...i mean the catholic church had bribed to get into heaven 600 years ago but i am under no pressure in any way from God to pay the church to get something out of it on sundays.
Right...try and have a service in the Catholic church without paying. Try to get married without paying or have a baptismal...or a funeral service at no cost. What planet are you on???
actually i never pay a cent in church for anything, if i have a couple bucks left over at the end of the week i might donate it in service but like i said before, which you seemed to have glossed over, i feel no pressure or requirement to pay any amount of money for my meaningful experience
Indeed. Sure, something in Scientology -might- help you. But if you want something that -might- help you, isn't it better to go with something that doesn't cost thousands of dollars?
think from the point of view of someone with countless millions of dollars. all other religion requires u to look deep within yourself and improve your life, live without sin, help other people. but scientology just requires u 2 cut a cheque and happyness is yours- thats what they tell u. give me 50,000$ and ull reach eternal happyness! once uv put all ur money into it its hard 2 accept it was a mistake.. like u dont want to admit u got ripped off after buying a lemon car.. sad really
WIKILEAK DOT ORG is where you can download many secret Scientology documentations for free. I read the super power rundown last night and it is insane. It also includes the 100 child security questions for 6-12 year olds.
I think this is a "Human Resource Agency", not a church...this is BS...they are able to skip paying taxes...but why? Why hasn't there been any uproar in the government or from a watchgroup agency...I don't get this.
It just boggles my mind how the Co$ is still able to operate tax free or at all for that fact in the US in this day and age after all these stories have come out. This is a blatant bait and switch operation while stealing millions away from people. I realize people do give the money willingly but you have agree there is some shady brainwashing and false promises going on here.
LOL ..... I was thinking the same thing before I read your post. technology, technology, technology, technology. And really it's bullshit, bullshit, bullshit, bullshit...
This part of Scientology's "crimes" don't really arouse much sympathy to me. Sort of like "predatory lending". Yes, not the most charitable of acts, but these predators only get very willing prey.
poor people in the cult are known as "staff". they have to sign a contract before they can become staff, either 2 1/2 years, or 5 years. they work up to 80 hours a week or more at their orgs, to cover the costs of their courses and auditing. since what they are getting in return for their labor is entirely worthless outside $cinetology, they are basically slaves of the cult.

@pizzaboy180 I'm not sure about this. Most churches only get their money by willing donations or by the government. So what would the government tax?
Scientology is the only "religion" I'm aware of that actually charges fees.
