@JackBauer152 John Pliesse is the cuurent VO for KXAS & a few other NBC O&O's (KNSD & WRC). Al Vanik used to be KPRC's VO in the early to mid-90's before Scott Chapin took over in 1994.
On sanantonionewsman's "NBC O&O Openers" video, there's a KXAS open. It sounds like their using Bill Ratner (who does KABC, KHOU, KENS and KMGH among others).
@freewaydan Now they're using Viral from 360 Music Production after going HD. I wish Gari Media Group would've given Hometown News a New Gen package for them to go HD with.
Yeah me too! Now that NBC has announced that it is selling WTVJ and WVIT to focus on the top ten US television markets, I'm hoping and praying that NBC would buy KPRC.
I really don't think so. After all. WDIV is the flagship station of Post-Newsweek since 2001 and has been an NBC afiliate for so long. If WDIV became an NBC-owned station, we may never know what might happen. But NBC would not buy WDIV because Detroit is ranked #11 in the DMA list.
@freewaydan I just moved to Houston last year. I can't stand to watch the local programming on KPRC, the production values - and a few of the on-air talent - seem a little "minor league". Embarrassing for the #6 media market in the nation. NOT impressed w/ the Post-Newsweek way of doing things. Would be awesome for NBC to buy this legendary station and dramatically upgrade it. (CBS needs to buy KHOU as well - they do a little bit better job in comparison, but could be awesome as an O&O.)

It sounds like they've reverted back to their old News 2 Houston theme music. Wow.

Their old News 2 Houston music, which is Hometown News by Frank Gari, is being used again only on openings. But sometimes, they used Advantage again.

I wish KPRC Local 2 had Ed Hopkins (who did KNBC, KLAS, KNTV, WMAQ) as thier voiceover.

Post-Newsweek might throw in WDIV in as a bonus.
